We were aware that the menu prices were higher than most and ambivalent about whether justified. Upon entering we were told our table was not ready, and that seats at the bar were reserved. The hostess noting our hesitation, immediately found two seats at the bar that were not reserved until later (we were a party of 3) and comped a round of drinks. The wait was minimal. Two of our dinner items were superb: the wasabi crusted tuna and the homemade tortelli with shaved truffles. The foie gras mousse appetizer was excellent! Save room for desert we enjoyed the creme brulee and the chocolate molten which was very light with complex flavors.
Based on our preferences, french press coffee would go well with it. Our server was pleasant, and there was silly organ grinder music playing intermittently throughout the evening. Well worth the visit.

Last year, we were unable to get reservations and so we made our reservation this year 2 weeks in advance. Though we have had good meals here in the past, this summer the meal was just so-so. It's not high praise when the best part of the meal was the wine. We had a fabulous Vouvray as recommended by the waitress. The beef short rib fritter appetizer was excellent and flavorful, but the main course was the tuna encrusted in wasabi which was badly underdone: basically raw, and not even seared. The molten chocolate cake was average. Though there are some reviews here critical of the service, we found our waitress and hostess to be very attentive. Perhaps our expectations were too high, or we simply chose the wrong dishes from the menu.

Won't go back to this restaurant. Service was terrible almost to point of being some kind of Cafe Bouef parody. Food was ok. Wait was interminable for which they apologized but....there are much better places to eat in Wellfleet.

Loved it last month and this was better. Prosciutto app was amazing. Fried peppers- amazing. Asparagus salad - amazing. Entrees the same. Only slight issue - I also had ordered pastries online and the order did not go through, but they filled some of my order and jumped on the problem very professionally. Well paced service.
