Never get your vessel worked on here, or purchase any service from them. Here are the reasons based on my experience's:

1) Rude, entitled people - because they have a monopoly on boat service and rentals in the harbor. They treat everyone equally terrible, I've witnessed it on multiple ocassions.
2) Quality - They are mechanically inept, don't understand outboard motors. Also look at the condiiton of their yard, it resembles a junkyard more than a boatyard.
3) Schedule - When they give you a finish date, just add 1-2 months to it. They get to things on their time, and expediting only increases duration.

Only positive here is the price, but if you want it done right, go to Nauset or Bay Sails. Wellfleet Marine is just a joke.

Just rented a boat from Wellfleet Marine Corp this past weekend. The girl behind the counter wasn't exactly the friendliest person in the world, but she was efficient, helpful and we got what we needed. She had some helpful advice asking which of our group was "the sailor" since "there's a small craft advisory and today's not the day to figure out if you're a sailor." The young kid and older gentleman on the dock helped us board and launch the boat and were friendly and helpful.

Fortunately all four of us were sailors and we rented at 14' Stur-Dee Cat. While a 14' boat doesn't seem like much for four adults, the boat had plenty of room, in fact more cockpit room that many 30' sailboats. (I'm not exaggerating.) Anyway, it was blowing 15-20 with 1-3 surf, but the little cat boat was very stable and comfortable in those conditions, albeit not exactly fast nor dry. And given that we had four sailors and only two controls (tiller and main sheet) there was little to disagree over and it was perhaps one of our easier and least dramatic sailing adventures.

Prices of $50/hour for the first hour and $20 per hour after that were very reasonable relative to any other boat rentals.

I'd highly recommend both the boat and Wellfleet Marine.

After a great lunch in
Ptown, we came across this little store in a boatyard that came recommended by some summer friends.. I love to shop, and this store was great to fill my winter time blues!!Tthe owners just got back from a buying trip, so the store was chock full of new goods...we bought these great pewter fish necklaces and semi precious stone wrap bracelets. The store is a good size, with varied merchandise, from cards to outside garden to a bit of funky clothing.. the jewelry was the best!! The help was fun and knowledgable, but not pushy (which drives me nuts!) I plan on coming back with my friends this summer! Well worth th trip.
