Description: Closed for the winter. See you May 2017 When we first opened Moby Dick’s in ‘83, we had no idea we’d become an establishment on Cape Cod. We simply wanted to start a BYOB restaurant that had fresh seafood, a relaxed environment, and a friendly staff that would make people feel at home. Well, three decades later, we’re still doing exactly that, opening every season in May to the delight of locals and visitors alike. Some people stop in for our lobster rolls while others come for an old-fashioned bucket of steamers. But everyone knows they can come to us for fresh family fun and a dining experience in Wellfleet they'll never forget.

“A second visit after trying three other places. Wellfleet doesn't need ther other restaurants!”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

Don't let the lineup outside deter you. It moves fast. If you're a snob, ignore that you order at the counter then they lead you to a table. This place is spectacular. Best and plumpest Wellfleet oysters in town. Best fried clam bellies in town. Great value on superb lobsters up to 2 1/2 lbs the night we were there. Great blueberry crumble. Bring your own beer and wine. Spotless place. Superb over the top service from wait staff from Anglia, England. And an owner -- Todd -- who leads his team with warmth, and caring and support. We talked to him and got a sense of his standards in buying the products he sells. And when we complimented him, he said genuinely that we made his day -- and meant it. You deserve his food -- and he earns your money. Isn't that capitalism at its best? We'll be back again Todd -- and again and again. And , no, I don't own any part of this business. Tonight, the Winslow Tavern, cause we hear he owns that too!

“If you only get to eat one lobster in your lifetime, make sure you eat it here!”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

I came back to Moby's because the lobster I ate there on my last trip to Cape Cod was that memorable. And that was August, 2000.
Vacation memories like that can never be recaptured. Or can they?
In this case, yes. The lobster was that good once again. And this time, we had the added treat of steamed mussels and clams. YUM!
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner. He was clearly completely hands-on and focused on making sure his staff get it right every time. He was also an absolute gentleman and wonderful host.
I will be back. Hopefully I won't have to wait until 2026!!

“Always fresh, always tasty”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

The decor may be a bit overboard and tacky, but the seafood is always fresh and delicious and the prices aren't bad. The scallops and steamers (local clams) are excellent.

“Outstanding Seafood”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Great atmosphere on Cape Cod. The open air dining was great. Outstanding lobster rolls and clam chowder were served up by a super-friendly, attentive staff. Well worth a visit; bring your appetite.

“With small grandkids, this was an ideal place for dinner out!”
Reviewed 28 July 2013 via mobile

There was a big line at 6 when we arrived and there was a bigger line when we left at 7! We seven, including their nanny, were seated quickly after taking our orders at the counter and being escorted upstairs to the spacious and airy seating area there. Two high chairs were made available for our grand twins. All five adults enjoyed our different dishes and the kids loved the French fries, an uncommon treat for them. The service was quick and attentive. When my wife couldn't crack the hard shell of the cold water lobster with the tiny cracker provided, a server took the dish back to the kitchen where it was quickly cracked and the lobster meat made easily accessible.

A good experience all around.
