Description: Order at the window. Send the kids to scout a table on the sand. This is the place for a plate of fried clams with a slow summer sunset on the side. Steamers with broth and drawn butter, a lobster roll, a fried fish sandwich, onion rings--they're Cape Cod classics for a reason. There may be nothing better. But here's satisfaction for those who might crave something else: grilled tuna with summer vegetables and ponzu, a scallop burrito, fish tacos, Caribbean fish stew. And ICE CREAM, of course: sundaes and frappes, soft-serve and scooped - served every night until 9:30 pm. Our honest-to-goodness clam shack. Right on Wellfleet harbor, next to our original fish market.

Read a great review in a magazine about this restaurant. Supposedly this is where local fisherman go for fish and seafood. I ordered the 'clambake' which was $40.00. A one and a half pound lobster, 10 mussels and a few red potatoes. Everything tasted ok but nothing special and not worth the money. I should have bought the stuff and cooked it myself. Live and learn.

We stopped by on the off chance and were quickly seated at our outdoor preference. The 12 Jumbo Shrimp cocktail were so sweet and with a fiery cocktail sauce a good appetiser . The mains we had were the Cobb Salad - with some great fresh additions of avocado, blue cheese and sweet cherry tomatoes - my partner had the Ceaser and friend the flounder sandwich. It's not cheap but good value for fresh al fresco dining with freindly efficient staff.

This restaurant is extremely popular and we went having read the tripadvisor reviews. We had an hour's wait on a Saturday night - average for Saturdays. However you can eat from the raw bar while you wait so we had local oysters and boiled shrip with our drinks - over $50 for that. The lobster is huge, and reasonable value at $32. It comes with rice or potatoes and corn. My husband had the surf and turf - steak, lobster and shrimp - again served with potatoes or rice and veg. the bill for our entrees, plus a glass of wine and a beer, was over $80. Not cheap but a lot of atmosphere and great lobster.

The first day we stopped for ice cream on the pier. We looked around, both at the eating and the atmosphere. The ice cream was good, but I think it was a premium, rich brand, not made onsite.

The second night we needed quick food that would allow us to make it to the drive-in movie by 8:15pm; it was 6:50pm and we had just given up hope after a few minutes in a long line at popular Moby's. My daughters were in no mood for seafood this night, but we were. Mac's satisfied both needs. The special that night was stripped bass, served with success of fresh, steamed veggies and rice pilaf. All of it was great! I won't bother you with the kids' choices of buttered pasta and a hot dog. They know not what they miss!

Had heard that the fresh made sushi was good here. Went early in the evening and sat at the sushi bar. Tried an assortment including edamame and the tune special. Sushi chef also gave us an extra piece to try something new. Shared a rainbow roll - very well done! In addition there was a raw bar and a large varied menu to try next time!
