Thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely stroll to the lighthouse and around the boardwalk. We went during the day and couldn't stay for the tour but it was a beautiful little lighthouse.

Has endless spots to take plenty of photos. Beautiful clean bay water surrounding this area. Finding parking can be tricky. This place is pet friendly and so beautiful at sunset.

This little lighthouse is charming! It is located on the Manteo waterfront, which is full of artisanal shops and restaurants. Great place to walk around after dinner or make it a day outing and go to nearby Island Farm, Elizabethan gardens...you can even take a ghost tour! There are two public washrooms. One is located at the museum and one is at the pavilion. If you are there during museum hours then the washrooms are open close to the waterfront. But if you are there at night walk the few blocks to the pavilion. There is a lot of free parking available close to the waterfront.

Use the historic ( low height ) lighthouse as your excuse to see historic and charming downtown mainteo where "real deal" shops and restaurants as well as beds and breakfasts are plentiful. A great way to spend a day with family-very friendly as lots of nearby sites to see on Roanoke Island. (acquarium, festival park and fun museum, fort, etc etc) Eat at Poor Richards sandwich shop right there on the harbor or TLs family restaurant, a total bargain. Most within easy walking distance and stroller friendly. What a refuge from the seas of beach tourists. Get away to Manteo and hear yourself think.

Loved the lighthouse, and the area surrounding it. The boardwalks surrounding the lighthouse are perfect for walking, running, biking, and just sitting watching the sun rise and set. Peaceful, peaceful, peaceful!!
