This aquarium is small but is def worth the trip! There are amazing animals and you can get up close with most of them. There's also nature trails and overlooks outside. The kids will enjoy it!

“The best non-beach activity at the Outer Banks”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

This is our third visit to this aquarium. It is not huge like a big city aquarium. However, the quality is outstanding. There are snakes, frogs, sea otters, alligators, and of course, numerous fish and sharks. They have a touch tank with little rays and small (non-biting) sharks which the kids and adults loved. They have added a turtle rehabilitation area which helps injured turtles found at various locations with diverse injuries with the ultimate goal of returning them to their natural habitat. One highlight was the main tank. The two divers in there tank, one was equipped with an ear piece and microphone to communicate with the audience. The huge tank holds 285,000 gallons of water and including a variety of sharks, tuna, and other very large tropical and temperate fish. Overall, the six children in our group, ages 4-9, as well as the adults (5), had a great time. We found it to be least crowded in the morning. We got there right around 9am and be there was no line. When we left around midday, the line was quite long to get in. We'll definitely be back on a day with imperfect weather for another visit.

“Small but interesting aquarium”

This isn't a large aquarium but it was nice for a short visit to the island. Kids will like it. There are nice views of Roanoke sound outside.

“A Fish Story”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Recently took my family to this very nice aquarium and we were not disappointed. Although is was fairly crowded (a rainy day on the Outer Banks) the trip was well worth it. We saw all kinds
of sea life, had a putting tank for small sharks and sea rays. The price was very reasonable
with adults around $ 11, seniors around $ 9, and children under 12 around $ 7. Took around
1 1/2 hours to explore and don't forget the dinosaurs outside -- very lifelike. Would highly
recommend for family experience.

“Not worth your money....”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

$10.00 to view a few fish, turtles, and sharks..not worth your money. A very lame aquarium. If you have small children they might like the "touch" pool. I did like the work they are doing with the rehabilitation of the sea turtles...that was quite impressive. The dinosaur park was okay if you have children.... Would not visit again!!!
