I may have aged out of local color...Rooms all REEKED of disinfectant. We inspected 2 other rooms trying to find one that did not. Felt like sleeping in a public restroom. When we got home, everything in suitcases smelled of disinfectant. Lots of frustrations, such as hot /cold problem with shower--see previous review. However, what put me over the edge was the owner, Southey, showing about 4 inches of his elderly buttocks in the restaurant. Place looks charming, though, with a huge amount of beautiful petrified wood in the garden.

Touring the Capitol Reef NP we stopped here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at its offerings. Food was fresh and delicious but what we enjoyed the most was the ambience. The southwest decor and the quiet background music created a perfect setting. Take the time to browse the gift shop. Overall a very nice experience for us.
**The Kiva on the opposite side of the parking lot was a novelty for us as well.

My husband and I don't mind "rustic" or "funky" places to stay and, on first glance, this place didn't look bad at all. In fact, there were no carpets, just bare wood floors with throw rugs, which was nice. We noticed the large gaps both above and underneath the front door but hoped no biting bugs noticed them. Ahh, the bathroom. Too tiny to move around in at all and no place to put toiletries. Not a big deal when compared to the rocking toilet, which was a big deal and, worse, the off & on scalding shower water, then freezing cold, then a little trickle, then another blast of super-hot water. My husband had to give up showering and said it was a good thing a little kid hadn't been in there because he would have been burned. The TV, as others have already said, is tiny but, again, we thought no big deal. Except that the cable or whatever the motel has for guests is less-than-optimal and constantly loses its connection, causing the screen to freeze with starts & stops throughout. Frustrating enough just to shut the whole thing down, which we did. Overall, a less than great experience. We thought it would be fine, we liked the idea of saving a few bucks, but after one night (and some water scalds later), we would never, ever return. Better to camp out under the stars somewhere...

This place has a Rustic Charm the rooms are quite nice and clean, the bathrooms are tiny and old feeling and are the week area for the inn. Nice quite place set off the road with refrigerator and in room coffee The setting is very nice with greenery around and beautiful views of the red cliffs to the North!

Cafe and gift shop in a shady setting were like an oasis after a long drive from Bryce Canyon along Scenic Route 12. Food is excellent and reasonable, music lovely and soothing, staff friendly, and shop items tastefully selected. Outside are cool breezes under large trees, sheltering from the bright sun. A beautiful above-ground stone kiva built by owner and his brother is also on the property. We discovered a great roadhouse after a great road trip, and ate meals there in a row before heading back.

My gf and I are currently staying at the Inn and could not wait to put in our two cents. The first thing that we noticed was the big gap under the door, followed by the screaming noise of the AC when we turned it on (the loud whistling was due to the air pushing through the gap under the door). The TV is absolutely tiny - my gf literally picked it up and put it on her lap. The bedding is questionable, as well as the cleanliness of the floor. The bathroom is tiny but the soap smells nice.....

On another positive note, the staff seemed very accommodating upon check-in and they do put a fly swatter in the room for your convenience!

The view from the Inn is absolutely breathtaking and they do have their own restaurant on-site. For the price, it isn't a bad deal, though it is a prime example of why I shouldn't try to be cheap.

They asked us if we wanted to look at the room before we booked. Beautifully furnished, spacious and well equipped we liked it so much we stayed a second night. Torrey was a great little town and the restaurant attached to the inn was good eating.

Room Tip: We were in room 4 and it was fine! Picnic table outside and lovely gardens
