These are wonderful cabins with a great view. The rooms are clean, large enough and a great bed. The owners are very kind. For the buck is hard to find something better. On our 21 day trip this was the best hotel/motel for the money.

Room Tip: the hotel does not show on the gps, just drive about 4 mile after the intersection of the Grand Stai...

We stayed here for one night and had a very nice stay. The cabin location was in a quiet location and had a fridge and microwave which were handy. The location is approximately 3 miles south of Torrey and there are no restraurants close by. If you want to eat, you need to drive back to Torrey or eat before you get to the cabin. The owner recommended a couple of restaurants in Torrey and we ate at the Cafe Diablo. The meal and service were well worth the drive back into town.

We would stay here again.

We stayed 2 nights in cabin 4, which I'd recommend since its on the end. Very spacious with a couch, coffee table and TV. King sized bed was comfy, would have liked more pillows. Small kitchen with microwave, fridge, sink and a few utensils and dinnerware. We ate dinner in one night, bought local produce and kitchen worked for us for that. Both mornings a family of deer munched on the grass right behind our cabin, we loved that. Could have stayed longer, Capitol Reef is very close with lots of hiking. Owners right on the property and very nice. This is a working ranch with cows and horses right on property. They don't call it "cowboy" homestead for nothing!

The good: Cute, clean cabins. Nice scenery. Very affordable. Good location.

The bad: The bed is not comfy at all.

The ugly: Nothing to say here. Yay!

Summary: Would come back again.

We stayed one night in the Cowboy Homestead Cabins, as we were passing through on our round trip in Utah. The location on a ranch with scenic views is really nice. Only a 10 min drive into the small town and 15 min to the Capitol Reef NP. The Host Don is very friendly and welcoming. The night we were there, he and his son+friends where practicing for a rodeo. He invited us to come over and watch them, which was really exciting for us.

The cabins were clean and relatively spacious, the bathroom though could have been a bit bigger-but not really an issue for us. If you stay on planning longer like a couple of days and would want to cook in the kitchen, we thought the equipment was expandable.

We can recommend the Cowboy Homestead Cabins and we would definitly come again. But do not expect luxury. We found the biggest asset are the friendly and knowledgeable hosts .

We only stayed one night here but was really nice. Nice hosts, cabins, location and price. The resident animals who greeted us were nice; the dog visited us at our cabin after we settled in, enjoying the view and peacefulness from the porch. We could have eaten in our room if wanted to; has BBQ outside.

Quibbles:
1) No directions on web site for coming from East (on Rt. 24 from Hanksville, UT Rt. 95). he Our Verizon phone's GPS service let me send the location to my phone from VZNavigator.com web site but the area is so remote that could not get the phone's GPS service to start nearby. Luckily, one of our tour books said it was located on highway 12 from Torrey and we found it.
2) Not enough cabins to have an outdoor ice machine which may have ruined the vibe anyway. But perhaps more than one ice cube tray would have helped and an ice maker in lare fridge would be awesome.

Great spot to stay for exploring Capitol Reef and the area. We had let the owners know we might be arriving late so were given directions to our cabin and told the light would be on and the door unlocked, which it was. Cabin was spacious and very clean with good hot water for showers. Kitchenette (small fridge, microwave, small sink, counter) was compact and had a few plates and utensils. Would have appreciated a bottle opener and a small paring knife for cutting fruits and veggies as well as a few glasses, not just hotel wrapped plastic ones. Front porch was a great spot for watching sunrise, sunset, the stars and even the deer that walked by. There is a charcoal grill and outside picnic table but we did not use either of those. Would definitely stay here again.
