We stayed for only one night in the Arithmetic Room. It was just as described on the website -- really a perfect retreat in Torrey. The massage chair in each room was a nice touch, and the views from the b & b are incredible. It is really nice to stay in a place steeped in so much history.

The breakfast was phenomenal, Ty was very friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was superb.

For the poster who posted about the lack of soap in the bathrooms, you'll be happy to know that our room came stocked with very chic toiletries.

Definitely stay here if you will be going through Torrey!

And Cafe Diablo was excellent, though beware that the portions are huge. Save room for dessert.

If you are visiting Capitol Reef National Park in Utah, then the Torrey Schoolhouse is the place to stay. A beautifully renovated schoolhouse, this b&b offers spacious, airy, comfortable rooms and wonderfully colorful gardens. Host Ty is engaging and warm, and cooks a delicious, organic breakfast (ours was a chile rellenos "bake"). Be sure to ask her to tell you some of the schoolhouse's history -- including some amazing stories about Butch Cassidy!

This former schoolhouse was lovingly and beautifully restored by the current owner, Ty Markham. All of the rooms were thoughtfully decorated. Our room included a massage chair which was welcome after a day of hiking. The rooms were well-furnished with many amenities. The organic breakfast was delicious. Ty was friendly and helpful. We loved our stay there.

During our tour of the Utah NP's, we stayed two nights at the Torrey Schoolhouse B&B. I can't speak for the other rooms but we stayed in the Arithmetic Room and it was very nice and exactly as described on their website. The premises are the cleanest of any B&B we have ever stayed in and very professionally ran. The town of Torrey is a charming little town and has a destination restaurant, the Cafe Diablo.

This was our first stop on a Grand Circle tour of the National Park's in Utah, and it set us off on a good start. Torrey is the location of Capitol Reef NP, our first major destination. The B&B is a an old schoolhouse, beautifully restored and decorated with period touches, pictures of alumni, and historical memorabilia. Facilities include a massage chair (which the inn-keeper assured us was put there just for us!)

We arrived at about dinner time and found our key and room information waiting. We had requested a ground floor room to avoiding having to haul luggage upstairs. It was their "accessible" room, and although a trifle cozy, was perfrectly comfortable in all respects. We called the inn-keeper, as requested, to announce our arrival and get a restaurant recommendation -- and we got a good one!

In the morning, coffee was available starting at 7:30am, breakfast was at 8:30, served around big tables that let guests get acquainted. Our breakfast companions were two charming couples, one from the UK, one from South Africa. The breakfast itself was an egg-cheese souffle and Canadian bacon, plus breads, jams, juice, etc. A real treat. We picked this B&B in part because of the TripAdvisor recommendation. We are happy to reinforce the recommendation!

Room Tip: One room on 1st floor, others are upstairs

Just west of Capitol Reef National Park Proprietor Ty Markham has renovated an old schoolhouse into an oasis in the desert. Enter through the garden into the spacious first floor common room filled with art, historical photos, great books and music. Rooms are light and airy with views of red rock mountains all around. Delicious breakfasts are prepared by Ty who uses ingredients from her personal organic garden. Ty is always available to help make your stay comfortable.
