This B&B was wonderful. It couldn't have been more comfortable. Everything was updated and the decor was fabulous. The chandeliers are beautiful. The bathrooms are all newly done. We were there during a cold spell, but the room temperature was absolutely comfortable. We came to see the area, but almost missed going because we were having too much comfort in the massage chair in our room. It is located a block from the highway and is very convenient for visiting Coral Reef. The breakfast was outstanding, organic and healthy. I need to find a way to get the recipe for the blueberry bread pudding.

Room Tip: There is no elevator so if you have trouble with stairs ask for 1st floor. We had the music room on...

Upon our arrival to Torrey we called the B&B to see if we could get in a night early. The owner, Ty, informed us that she was out of town for a few nights and could not accommodate us. She also informed us at that time that she would not be there to make us the organic breakfast the B&B boasts and that we had planned for. Instead she left $10 coupons to a place a couple miles away in a little strip mall. Needless to say the $10 didn't even cover the breakfast at the place, let alone a second cup of coffee that was served in a to-go cup. After two mornings of this and no one at the inn, we were looking forward to being able to stay at the B&B and enjoy a homemade breakfast. However, around 9:00 pm that night, the owner knocked at our door to let us know that she brought her grandchildren back with her and asked if we would eat out again the third morning in a row. She said if we really wanted her to make us breakfast she would, however it was clear that it would be an imposition. She later said she didn't think we would want to have breakfast with rambunctious children. This also was odd as the B&B doesn't allow children under 12 at the establishment, yet she left them there and she went across the street to sleep. In addition to her untimely knock on the door that evening, another time I was interrupted from a nap so that some repair men could look at the windows in our room. My husband was out hiking and it was rather uncomfortable being in the room alone with three men after being awoken. The internet was another problem. It was spotty and quit working. Luckily I could still use the Chuck Wagon's connection since we had stayed there the first night when the B&B would not take us in. This was not the experience we were hoping for and the owners response was that if we were ever in Torrey again she would give us 1/2 off, knowing that we are from upstate NY and would not be back. The place was sterile and unwelcoming and certainly not a Bed and BREAKFAST! False advertising! At the very least our reservation should not have been taken without notifying us that no one would be there and there would be no breakfast served. I guess that our money that was due in advance was more important.

Room Tip: Stay at the Chuck Wagon where it is clean, comfortable, private, great internet connection and has f...

I'm a firm believer in seeking out local stays and not hotels. This is a great place to relax and feel at home away from home. Super clean room and great views. After a day of exploring this beautiful area the bed was super comfortable as well as the message chair. An absolute must is the Diablo Cafe for dinner. Owner is super gracious and her breakfast, veggie fritata, was to die for, Don't miss this historic place!

Torrey is a very handy stop off for visiting Capitol Reef, quite small but spacious and a fair number of restaurants, diners and places to stay. The schoolhouse is among the more expensive but is a clean, large b and b set in the towns old school. Rooms are well equipped though making it up to the third floor with heavy suitcases was an effort. Downstairs there is a large room full of comfortable sofas. Breakfast is at a set time (8.30) and all the guests eat together - while the regimented approach isn't our preferred way, it was fun to meet fellow travellers and share stories.
We did not see the owner, and her friend who had come in to do breakfast apologised that this wasn't what would normally be served, and some of the fruit was not organic as promised on all the adverts. As in a previous review, she did not want to brew decaffeinated coffee for just a couple of people.

Room Tip: No help getting luggage to 3rd floor and no lift. If you have heavy luggage request a lower floor ro...

After a day at Capitol reef, we were so excited to drop our bags and use the massage chair in our pretty third floor room. The hike upstairs was not any worse than our brooklyn walk up. The room was clean, gorgeous windows overlooking town and mountains. We ate at cafe diablo (great) and enjoyed some tea and stars downstairs at night. Breakfast was great - blueberry bread pudding. Ty, the innkeeper, is lovely and gave us great recommendations for our ride to Bryce Canyon. I loved the decor and history of the school house. Bed was super comfortable. (Also we were exhausted!) great spot.

No owner present to coordinate the stay with other guests. In the morning owner still not present and local employee servered bread pudding and bacon for breakfast. Still can't believe that one. No brewed decaf and didn't want to brew a whole pot. Very beautiful building but without owner participation a very sterile and cold environment .

Spent one night at the schoolhouse. Very nice in all respects. Excellent hot breakfast. Unique and very comfortable. No complaints whatsoever!

Third floor room has a great view of the surrounding town and hills.
