We rented both cabins and enjoyed the weekend of hiking, fishing and relaxing! Perfect location. The cabins were very clean. I don't dare walk barefoot in hotels but I did at the cabins! We will go again for sure! Thanks Mulfords!

A log cabin surrounded by low moutains and fields. The area was remote and quiet. The cabin was immaculate. They try to think of all the items you would need to function in the kitchen for cleaning and cooking. It had more bedding than we needed for our family of six. The great room was spacious. The water source- natural spring- was great tasting water... some of the best on our tour through southern Utah. Although no pool or hot tub, the area was cool despite summer months. A definate place to stay if looking for home like accomodations for a large family or group.

Room Tip: Shop before you arrive. The best grocery option is over 20 minutes away in a small, remote town. P...

We could not have been happier with this choice! The Mulfords were gracious hosts and ensured we were comfortable and pleased with the cabin. We found the cabin close to the city of Torrey but really enjoyed being out in the country. The cabin was spotless and very well cared for. Everything was in great working order. We did have to ask the Mulfords about which heating system to use (there were individual controls with baseboard heating in each room but also a central unit - central control unit was the answer). The cabin overlooks their beautiful property, is perfectly quiet and great for star watching at night. It was truly difficult to tear ourselves away from this place when it was time to leave. If we are ever back in this part of Utah, we will definitely stay at Uncle Earl's Cabins!

Room Tip: There are 2 cabins on the property - either one would be great.

Minutes from the alpine forest and higher elevations, a short drive to Torrey and the Capitol Reef National Park, these cabins are wonderful lodging with comfortable beds for up to 8, a well appointed kitchen, and a fabulous view. We rented both cabins together for a large group and loved being on the site while exploring the are for two days and nights. We especially appreciated the deck porches with chairs and the washer and dryer to get some laundry done. My son caught (and released) three lovely rainbow trout from the pond. Great accommodations in a rural setting.

We recommend Uncle Earl’s cabins. The cabins are well-suited for a large family or two families. We visited as two families: Four adults and four kids under 5. There was plenty of room for everyone in the spacious cabin: 2 bedrooms downstairs (each with a queen) and a loft upstairs with 3 beds (two twins and a queen). Full baths downstairs and upstairs. The kitchen was large and fully equipped (less wine glasses and a corkscrew). Great elevated deck with a nice view over a small pond and beyond. The cabin was very clean throughout. The location is superb at about 6 miles south of Torrey. The sign is hard to see for the left turn off HWY 12 (as you head south from Torrey). We had no problem sending full payment prior to arriving. Owner will provide code for lock box that has cabin key. Uncle Earl’s is vastly superior to the chain hotels one finds in Torrey.

  • Liked — Location, large cabin in remote area
  • Disliked — Difficult to get hold of owners for reservation - however, small effort for good accommodation

Our family stayed at Uncle Earl's Cabins and we loved it. The large roomy cabin was more than enough room for our family of 5 adults. The cabin was clean and well equipt including a washer and dryer. If you enjoy quiet, relaxing vacations with beautiful scenery...this would be the place.

Driving from the south into the sunset, we almost missed the one small sign to Uncle Earl's Cabins. However, we knew if we got to Torrey, we'd have gone too far. Their website looked very promising, showing lots of pictures but can't do it justice. This place was amazing and probably one of the best values you'll ever see for the money. We should have paid more attention to that website, because we didn't shop to take advantage of the completely equipped kitchen. Having a full-size stove w/oven was a real treat, along with cooking tools I don't even own! There were six adults travelling together and having FULL bathrooms both upstairs and down was great. The only thing I found missing was that, aside from a small hall closet, there was no place to rest a suitcase, or hang clothes. It seemed a little strange to have to rummage through my open suitcase on the bedroom floor. A small thing, for sure, but if I was staying for several days it would become a bit annoying.
