My friend and I highly recommend! Start the walk from the Brooklyn side (DUMBO) going to Manhattan. A nice walk with a beautiful view! There is also a bike lane if you prefer to bike ‍♀️

A long walk with lots of views to see along the way. Lots of seating along the bridge if you want a rest

This is a must-do when visiting NYC.
Try and visit in quiet times eg non-weekends and walk from Brooklyn back across in to Manhattan, it's the best view for sure - you'll be sorry if you don't !
For the good of everyone, stay out of the cycle lanes

Nice bridge and great views of the other side of the city. Worth going for a walk along the seafront where the ferry stops too.

Brooklyn heights cannot be accessed at this moment from the seafront due to repair works.

You can even see Liberty from here

Walked from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Really enjoyed it bit busy and the bikes get really annoyed of you get into thier lane but it is so busy you can't avoid it.

We had a lovely autumn day and views are stunning. I'd say better than staten island ferry

This is the second time I have walked the Brooklyn Bridge and this time was so enjoyable. Last time was the middle of summer, it was hot and the bridge was packed with people out for the walk. This time as you will see from the photos it was such a fantastic experience. Not crowded, lots of opportunities to stop for photos and it was the morning after the first snow of the season. A beautiful day and just a great way to spend your morning. If you are around NYC in November then it is probably a great time to take in the Brooklyn Bridge before winter hits.

Brooklyn Bridge gives you an ideal NYC experience and includes both the Manhattan and Brooklyn boroughs. If you start at the Brooklyn side you have DUMBO to explore as well! Food, park, views, carousel, all kinds of things to do. As you cross the bridge you'll enjoy the vast few of lower manhattan, (likely experiencing that with 1,000's of others depending on time of day, so go for a weekday) and cross to the otherside. Grab a hotdog from the nearest stand and check out that area as well if you like, until ready to head back. Or go in any direction there to see more of Manhattan. Bikes can cross too!

Walked over the bridge - so did 1,000s other tourists. Very busy. Poor cyclists have hard time, would advise people to walk if visiting or go really early if cycling the bridge. Great walk around Brooklyn and good views of Manhatten from Brooklyn.

It's a busy and noisy walk across the bridge but worthwhile.
The views you get of the Manhattan skyline are superb (both at night and during the day)
Oh - and the bridge itself is quite a structure...

Starting at City Hall you begin your walk onto this iconic bridge. It is a busy commute across with separate lanes for walking and cycling. The stunning views of downtown Manhattan are just brilliant. Fantastic photo ops and you feel part of a film set with the cars and trains busily going about its busy below you. You can descend onto Brooklyn Heights and enjoy the revamped piers and high energy. Great views back across to Manhattan. You can get a water taxi back across or to Midtown.
