Seeped in history, a walk across the hybrid cable-stayed/suspension Brooklyn bridge is a must during your trip to New York. Offers a wonderful view of the city and the East River. Carry water on a hot day and give way to the bikers!! To make your trip worth it plan what you are going to do when you get to the other side; we took a bus to Prospect park.

We walked across from the Brooklyn side to Manhattan. It was a really hot day, but the breeze was nice off the river and it was a little sheltered from the wires of the bridge. There is a pedestrian & bike lane. Make sure to stay in the pedestrian lane. The bikes are going quick and get upset when your in the way. There are a couple spots to stop and take pictures. It was a nice walk and had great views of Manhattan, the east river, and the Manhattan Bridge. You can also see the Statue of Liberty from here. Once you reach the other side it's not too far of a walk to the Wall Street area. Defiantly worth the visit if you have time to walk across!

You have got to see the Brooklyn Bridge close up. After seeing the bridge so many times in movies it was fantastic to see it in the flesh!! We found the best view was by walking underneath on the Manhattan side of the East River and looking up at the bridge.
