Owner description: Grand Central Terminal is the most extraordinary public space in New York City. Opened to the public in 1913, this historic train terminal is a world-famous landmark in Midtown. Its rich history is a story of immense wealth and great engineering. Grand Central is one of the busiest train stations in the world, with approximately 750,000 visitors every day. It is the home of Metro-North Railroad, a subway station, iconic restaurants, shops, and the world's most alluring Apple Store. Some of the highlights to see along your tour of Grand Central include the opal-faced clock, valued at $20 million, above the Information Booth, the Largest Tiffany Glass Clock in the World below the 48-foot, 1500-ton Transportation statue overlooking 42nd Street at Park Avenue, and the mystifying acoustics of the Whispering Gallery in front of the Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Audio and guided tours are available for those with a passion for history. More information regarding tours and ways to plan your visit can be found on the Grand Central Terminal website.

Go one level down and visit the Oyster bar. Indulge. On the way out or in, stop under the arch - get a friend - stand diagonally across from each other with an ear to the tiles - whisper - you will hear each other - smile - and be baffled.

Visited here for Breakfast during our stay in NYC and also to take the Train to the World Trade Center / Ground Zero. The Station itself is absolutely huge and some of the architecture is stunning too. Have some food in there as the choice of cultures and nationalities is unreal. It's another must see in my opininon

I just happened to be taking the subway through the terminal, and decided to get off and take a look. It was fantastic. I paid an additional $8 to take a self guided audio tour. I had to ask a police officer to guide me to the kiosk that sold these tours because the station is so immense that you could almost get lost. If you have additional 45 minutes to spare the audio tour is well worth it. It helped me appreciate the rich history this place has. I even liked it so much that I drug my husband back with me after he finished working so he could see the terminal too. It’s just one of those iconic places in New York that is worth a few minutes to take in.
