“Superb Art Gallery”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

One of the best art galleries in New York, the Met would be my favourite if the MoMA did not exist. Thoroughly recommended.

“Fantastic Museum!”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a vast storehouse for all types of art, archeticture, and cultural artifacts. Whatever your tastes in art, the Metropolitan likely has much to offer you. I have alwaus enjoyed the Egyptian galleries (with a restored temple saved from the construction of the Aswan Dam),, the vast collection of Grecian and Roman artifiact, the impressive collection of French Impressionist painting, and the s tunning fashion collection. But I think that my favorite partof the museum now is the recentlu opened Michael Roclfeller Wing for primitive art. While it includes examples from all over the world, the nist impressive part consists of the art that he personally collected in New Guenia. It is truly spectacular!!!

this is a museum for all ages. I have escorted groups of high school students through it, and they had a wonderful time.

“Eating at the Met Fine Way to Top Off the Day”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Since we're Met members, we always dine in the member's dining room. Food is gourmet with emphasis on making a tie-in between dining and whatever special exhibits are on. The view of Central Park is fabulous.
However, we have also dined in the café, which is okay, pretty typical of most museums--always crowded and not much of a selection. The wine bar lunchroom is much better, although people line up there early on. Last time there (in May, 2014), I had the cheese plate and a glass of wine and some bread, and was satisfied.

“A lot to see”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We used out New York passes (well worth buying, if you want to see a number of attractions). There is so much to see at the Met. It would be best to allow more than one visit and to really target the areas you want to see. There is such a variety of artefacts and they seem to be well displayed. We split up so that we could both see the things we were really interested in. Well worth a visit.

“One of our favorite museums-ever!”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Can't say enough about this museum. Amazing artwork and artifacts. The place is huge and full of surprises. The little Japanese Garden, in a tranquil corner, was really nice to "stumble" upon. My teens liked the museum so much we had to go back a second day to finish looking around.
