The met has some of the most beautiful art I have ever seen. I especially loved the middle ages gallery. The staff and security guards were all helpful. I have heard negative comments about the staff and this was not my experience.
The negative, cameras! The new trend is taking selfies in front of the art. I actually nearly got in a fight with some woman who wanted me to move so she could take her photo. This happened in the Egyptian galleries. There are plenty of galleries where tourists who don't really care about art don't show up.
The American art was super and was not crowded at all. As was the musical instrument gallery, renaissance, middle ages and photography. There is so much to see.
Tip: Eat a big meal before going. The cafe's in the museum are crowded and expensive. $30 for a sandwich, chips, cookie and 2 drinks Huh?
Negatives aside, I loved my visit. A must if you love art!!
