We went to Dumpling Man with high expectations and they were not met....maybe it's because we did take out- but when we got the food home, the dumplings were sticky and clumpy and had lost their crunchiness and the soup dumplings were dry.
I might suggest eating in to really test the quality but the place is quite small and not conducive to a gathering.

Great experience at the Dumpling man! Very small place but you can set at the counter and watch them make the dumplings. We had some of the pan seared pork dumplings and they where delicious. Fun place to go for an experience.

I have never gone out and had "dumplings". Just not what we go out for where I come from. But this experience with co-workers was just fantastic. As a group we ordered just about every kind they had, grilled and steamed. ALL were excellent. For my first time, I really enjoyed the shrimp and pork ones. The place is a hole in the wall, packed in tight, just about standing room only the night we went, but man was it worth it. Truly a unique experience for someone who is just not a city-boy at all. Must try if for nothing else to really expand your culinary checklist.

I went with a friend for a light lunch on a chilly day, and we split the veggie dumplings and corn quinoa soup. Although it was a little slow, we were in no rush, and the food arrived very hot. The dumplings were very filling, and went great with a squirt of sriracha. The corn quinoa soup was also hearty and filling.

Overall, we got a filling, hot lunch for two for a very reasonable $8. I can't wait to go back.

We ordered pork dumplings seared, not steamed, cold noodle salad, and a special dumpling of the day with kimchi filing in a green dumpling, which came steamed, along with two extra sauces. It was a perfect to-go lunch picnic, which we ate in the park across the street on a beautiful spring-like day in April. Our next visit to NYC will include another stop here!
