I spent two nights at The Mark and was extremely impressed by the quality of the staff and of the room. The room was not large, but was perfectly laid out. Particularly notable was the bathroom. In a relatively small space, they were able to fit a double vanity, a large bathtub and a separate, large, shower. The hotel was full, but there was no sense that anyone was overworked or stressed. Everyone was polite and helpful. If you want to stay on the Upper East Side, The Mark is a great choice.

Room Tip: My room was on the 2nd floor overlooking 77 St. If you wake easily, you probably want to be on the...

I first called to make my reservation at night (after hours) and was delightfully surprised when I spoke with Sean W. at The Mark Hotel. He was very informative and pleasant to deal with. When we arrived, we were greeted by bellmen (Dritan??) who too, seemed very professional. We checked in at the front desk with Jane and again, were greeted in a professional, welcoming manner. All of our contacts with hotel personnel were fantastic. It appeared they very much enjoy what they do and seemed to make sure our stay was perfect, which it was!!!
The room was extremely clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable (bathrobes and slippers were provided). One remote control for TV's, lighting, shades was very convenient.
Overall, a terrific, luxurious hotel with great staff. Located one block east of Central Park.
Can't wait to go back!!!!!

We hosted a cocktail party for the partnership for inner city education at the Mark Hotel 6/17
It was absolutely fabulous!! The Mark couldn't have been more accommodating and looked after every detail

Room Tip: Every room is wonderful, but always nice to face west to see Central Park and the Sunset

I had booked The Mark based on feedback on Trip Advisor - mostly positive - and location. Sometimes I wonder if the people giving these reviews actually stayed there and I hope to set straight some of the myths - having been there all of last week. The first thing I want in a hotel is a quiet (very important in NYC) room, good air conditioning and it must be a pleasant environment too. The Mark ticks all the boxes - the beds are big comfotable and changed daily, the air conditioning is easily adjustable and very, very efficient, top quality fittings, stylish and more storage room that you could every use, with fantastic 'drawer style bar and freezer' with tons of ice on tap. These rooms are quiet, draw the blinds (electric) and the room is a perfect environment for uninterrupted sleep. The B&O TV system was being upgraded while we were there (it needed it) and it is now excellent with moving on tap and TV listings. The bathroom is beyond good, it is fantastic, the shower has everything you need and the bath is huge (you could float in it) and fills quickly, there is even TV built into the mirror above the sinks - all black and white marble and everything you could ever need. Room service is very quick, top quality and if I had one complaint more space round he table would be nice. Breakfast in the Mark is the best value there is, lovely dining room, impeccable service, coffee, fresh orange juice, cooked breakfast, toast etc all for $28 + tax and service ($24 for continental) you would not get anything half as good in the area, I know because I read the reviews that said it was too expensive - and I tried to get something of better value and failed miserably! This is the Upper East Side and value is rare here but for us The Mark delivered real quality at a fair price, convenient to Central Park, The Met, the Frink, The Guggenheim right on Madison Avenue for top end shops and galleries, great bar, great staff we had a fantastic stay. The Mark offered us an oasis every evening when we returned to have a refreshing G&T. The hotel is not perfect, there were small things that annoyed us - the main restaurant for dinner was just OK - concierge offered things at a price not solutions but we worked round them and it delivered us a great spot to base ourselves while in New York. It is not cheap but you remember the value long after you have forgotten the price. The Mark made our stay in New York not only memorable but unforgettable - Thank You!

Room Tip: We had a Madison King on the 7th Floor, perfect for us and so quiet!

The Mark is an outstanding hotel for a special occasion in NYC. The service and attention to detail were a delight. We had the king room which was very spacious and beautifully decorated. We especially loved the large bathroom with full size bath and massive shower. The bathroom toiletries are all made an Italy and very generous in size, they also smell divine. An important detail in my mind!! The location is brilliant because after a very busy day in the hustle and bustle of downtown, it is an oasis of peace and serenity to come back to the hotel which is so beautifully located near Central Park. If you are looking for a memorable stay, you have found it!

Room Tip: The courtyard king room is very comfortable, quite and very spacious. It has loads of robe space an...

I love staying at The Mark. Excellent service, wonderful rooms and great area. The staff were consistently helpful and pleasant. The food and wine list were as good as I remember. I can think of very little that should be improved in this gem of a hotel other than hoping it doesn't become even more popular so I can keep getting reservations when visiting New York.

We have stayed in some high end, quality hotels around the world, but I have to say that up until now this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in. Not only was the Hotel stylish and extremely comfortable but the quality of service and attention to detail was absolutely first class. All of the staff were courteous and friendly and would offer you assistance in any way possible. The concierge staff were particularly brilliant, (especially Isabelle and Jackie) they were very kind and attended to our every need....I would re-visit in a heart beat! Thanks, you really hit 'The Mark'
