We love the location of The Mercer. It's in the middle of Soho within a short walk of great restaurants and shopping.
The room was smaller than what we had imagined and the bathroom, although is separated by wood blinders still feels inside the bedroom.
The staff is friendly and the restaurant is very good. We look forward to staying there again.

We enjoyed our stay here. Booked two rooms -- one for our 20-something daughter as the rooms are small. Modern and minimalist in an interesting historic space. We seem to have been lucky to have had very good service from the hotel desk team. Beware of having a coffee/drinks in the main-floor lounge -- our waitress was a veritable space cadet (ie very poor service) as were the others that served us in this area during our stay. It is a bit pricey. No coffee machine in the room is a bit ridiculous. I would recommend the Mercer to my friends but might try another hotel next visit because there is so much choice in NY.

I had high hopes for the Mercer since it's billed as a luxury hotel and it is in a great location. However, the service there was poor. The staff were not accommodating when I arrived, and there were many bumps during my stay....unfriendly desk staff, difficulty in the seating area in the lobby, difficulty with the final bill being charged to my credit card when I paid in cash, slow service from the valet, etc. Unfortunately, the price of the hotel did not match the level of service the hotel provided. The staff needs more training to bring this property up to a higher quality experience.

Guaranteed to see many well known names just hanging out in the lobby and taking meetings. It certainly has street cred and a nice place to spend an evening. The mercers kitchen is also very nice food. We stayed in a deluxe room which had a small dining table which made it a little more spacious. The room are very plain decor which is contemporary but it only just got away with it as felt a little too underdone for me and didn't quite hit the luxury tone. The high ceilings made the room feel more spacious. Bathrooms are great. The location makes it so will definitely be returning.

40 times in Manhattan, often around Central Park but this time I wanted to make a surprise to my wife because we both like Soho very much. Well, Soho is still the same than last year, just a great area to make great shopping but I still do not understand what's so special with The Mercer. Price was $500 for a tiny double room (our bed was 160 cm large, a nightmare when our bed at home is 200 cm), no bath which was a problem for our baby (her bad was just fantastic) and NO coffee machine in the room. We had dinner there and once again well overpriced ($70 taxes and service included for my steack, good but not fantastic). So, The Mercer I did but I will not again. There are so many great hotel in NYC, like The Gramercy or The Essex! I left The Mercer with a impression to have paid too much for nothing special.

Room Tip: Check to receive a king of at least a queen bed, otherwise do not stay there!
