I stayed here for work for 10 days (yes 10 days for work, yuk) and must say I was treated very well by the staff during my stay. Walking through the doors you'll notice that the Lobby is very clean and safe. To the left is a restaurant/bar which had good food but I only ate there once during my stay. Looking around I couldn't help but think William Randolph Hearst built this Hotel in 1926 for his Hollywood friends as well as his mistress, the actress Marion Davies, who had her own specially-designed floor in the building. I wonder which floor it was? Probably the one with the balconies, anyway...The rooms were extremely clean and very spacious for Manhattan, esp midtown. I've stayed at many other hotels in the area and they felt like you were staying in a shoe box. My room was a very comfortable King sized bed with a decent flat panel TV, an overstocked mini-fridge with lot's of drinks (they should remove some of those to leave you some room for your own stuff), a good sized dresser, a full sized double door closet, chair, Desk and another chair, three small tables (end table and night stands), good sized bathroom with a full tub and great shower with decent shower head. No issues with water pressure (pet peeve of mine) and no hot water issues. Wifi could have been better, was a bit slow but worked OK. If you are looking for a hotel based on the modern look (aka the W hotel chain) this probably isn't it. This place is much nicer than the W. Larger rooms, better staff, etc...I've stayed at both. If you are looking for a hotel with art deco type decor that doesn't feel old and is in great shape plus very well taken care of then this the place. Beautiful hotel, great staff, great location. Right by tons of shopping, central park, etc...Overall I can't say anything bad about this place. It was great stay especially being I was there for 10 days that's saying a lot. I will definitely stay here again.
