“Excellent Italian Food”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

Loved the octopus - best I have ever had. Staff were attentive and extremely helpful. The Branzino was also perfectly cooked, and the tuna appetiser was refreshingly new.

“Expensive, cramped and busy and not worth all of that”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Saturday night is busy and here was no exception. Great atmosphere and obviously very popular. To manage this the tables are minute and crammed in as densely as can be. Service is good and so is the food but my octopus was "warm" when it should have been hot and the duo of beef is good if you like well cooked beef. The best course was the bread however. It was nice but should not have been the best on offer. Unlikely to return but the restaurant is clearly maximizing it's profit at the expense of it's customers. If they like that so be it.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Came here last minute with a friend for the first time. The place seemed pretty busy but we were offered a seat at the bar which we promptly took. They gave us a bread plate that was really yummy with some different sides. The menu is to the point: we shared the tuna tartar and the octopus, and I had the branzino while my friend chose the beef duo. We had to wait a little for our main course but they brought us an extra course to make up for it. They also have a really nice wine selection. I was really impressed with our last minute choice - I would definitely go back!

“Loved it”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

Had an evening on my own one night while visiting NYC, and wandered into Vai. Sat at the bar and found the atmosphere friendly to loners, with a charming barmaid. Seviche was perfect, wine was excellent, and the piece de resistance was the miniature dish of zabaione that came out of the kitchen on the house after my meal. Any restaurant that gives a perfect portion of an excellent dessert without the patron having to ask is tops on my list! I definitely recommend this place.

“Under the stop watch”
Reviewed 5 April 2014 via mobile

If you want to feel rushed and buried. If you want to feel that you are reading dinner and racing a stop watch this is your place. Management had one goal and that is to get you out fat. Would not rush to this restaurant for VA plant leisurely meal
