“Upper West Side Gem”

Lovely summer evening of sidewalk dining on Amsterdam Ave. Pricey but excellent wines with generous pours from our waitress. Heirloom tomatoes and watermelon started well. The grilled/charred octopus was the best I have had; remarkably tender chunks of succulent meat. The Burrata filled ravioli were enough to share. A complimentary almond pot de creme finished a memorable meal.

“Best kept secret?”

I am surprised this place doesn't get more hype than this. The food is fresh and creative and tastes like a nice homemade meal.

“Exquisite Tastes, unusual menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

We went for dinner and sat outside for a sidewalk dining experience. I ordered king oyster mushrooms with polenta a pouched egg and shaved parmaesan. My son and his girlfriend ordered ravioli with aged parmeasan and truffle oil. Prior to the meal we were given a riound loaf of bread accompanied by roasted garlic, olive oil, and a white bean puree. After dinner they served us what seemed to be an almond custard served in a pretty miniature gravy boat. We had the special chablis which was tart and crisp. We loved the food. My only suggestion is that they put candles or other lighting on the table. We watched guests take a lantern from the table of a neighboring restaurant for their Vai dining experience, new yorkers are resourceful!

Very good italian food in upper west. Swift and friendly service of reasonable priced meals. All dishes on the internet menu were not offered, but the ones we ordered were excellent.

“Excellent Italian Food”

Loved the octopus - best I have ever had. Staff were attentive and extremely helpful. The Branzino was also perfectly cooked, and the tuna appetiser was refreshingly new.
