We loved this hotel! It is just steps away from Times Square and the theatres are right nearby, so the location is excellent. The staff are all extremely professional: friendly, helpful, and courteous. Our room was not large, but it was very clean and well appointed. We did not have a great view from our room, but because we spent so much of our day exploring the city, we did not mind. We particularly enjoyed the lounge/cafe, which is called Rick's; it was a lovely, comfortable spot to have breakfast, to relax over an iced coffee or a glass of wine, and to read and relax before turning in at night. This hotel is a wonderful place to stay while exploring New York City.

We checked into the Casablanca on June 16 after cancelling a room at a nearby hotel when we made our reservations some months ago. Although a little more expensive, when considering the hotel, staff and amenities this was one of our best travel decisions ever. Our room 603 was clean and well decorated and to our surprise a walk-in closet in the room. The bathroom was well equipped and very clean. Rick's Café, where we had our free breakfast, snacks during the day, and wine and cheese after 5PM was a travelers delight. Stocked with fresh and very high quality breads, cheeses, pasteries and fruit at all times. A modern espresso machine was available for making your own espresso, or cappuccino, regular or decaf.. We have been to many fine hotels in our travels and often the staff is very snobby. Not at Casablanca!! Everyone was cordial and helpful, we were particularly pleased with the service from Jeff at the front desk, although we probably would have been just as satisfied with any of the other staff on duty. The location is a no brainer if you want to stay in the Times Square area. We can not think of one negative for this fine hotel.

Room Tip: Ask, they seem to be willing to help on any issue

Charming small hotel in the foot of times square. Walking distance to the square, shopping, theater productions and musicals. Staff made you feel like old friends. Nightly wine and cheese. Concierge did not disappoint and were very helpful. Great stay in a lovely hotel.

Wow what an exceptional hotel. I loved how ALL of the staff were accomodating and friendly, the location is really right on Times Square, but so quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was amazing and the breakfast staff so helpful. The style of the hotel gave it a very luxurious ambience and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. However, despite reading the reviews about the rooms it still surprised me by how small it was and we had no windows to speak of, it was ok for our 2 night stay, but next time I would certainly upgrade the room. But that is not a negative comment, simply a comment on how silly I was not to have taken notice of other reviewers. I loved the little touches in the room, the slippers, tissues, cotton wool balls, toileteries, bottle of wine, chocolates on the pillow, robes, complimentary water, etc etc......you must try this hotel, it is probably the most serenity and sanity you will find on Times Square.

Room Tip: Upgrade for a larger room with windows maybe.

Dear Wendy,

Thank you so much for the fabulous review! It was a pleasure to have you as our guest! We appreciate your sharing your insights and we also feel very strongly about giving travelers the most authentic descriptions of what we have available, so we would like to add some comments to help future travelers considering a stay with us.

The room you stayed in was a Deluxe Room with 1 Queen Bed which is a fine size for some and a bit small for others, so, dear TripAdvisor friends, please know that you can find all the details with regard to room sizes on our website, so you can make the best choice for your needs. We have some rooms that are smaller, and some that are larger, and we also have some mini suites, so if you are not sure what will work out best for you, please just give us a call and we will be happy to guide you. Also, we want everyone to know that this is not a tall tower where we offer stunning views. Instead we are a small townhouse with only 48 rooms and six stories, surrounded by tall buildings so please be aware that although every room has a window, and every bathroom has a window as well, you may not have a view to speak of and a few rooms, including the one you were in, have a film over the window because it was better than the alternative. If you want to stay and request a street facing room, please advise us of that when you book and we will do our best, but please know that you will have a bit more exposure to "the hum of the city" than the rooms facing the back where you are a bit more cocooned and protected from sound and also from light.

If I can be of any help please let me know. You can contact me directly by email at John@CasablancaHotel.com or feel free to give me a call at 212.869.1212.

Sincerely,

John Taboada

From the time we walked in the front door, we were treated like royalty. This was our second stay at this wonderful hotel & we will be back again next year. Top notch in every way including the lovely lady that heated up our leftovers from Carmine's for us. Very clean, very quiet & love the breakfast and afternoon wine/cheese. Thank you to everyone!

New York was our last stop on our recent trip and though it was my 4th time I've been so far I have never used the same hotel twice but that could change next time we visit.
The front of house staff were very polite and helpful,so thank you Robert,Victor and Joseph. The room was very comfortable with good facilities. Its very well situated only a stones throw from times square.Snacks and drinks are available on a help yourself basis 24 hours and the complimentary cheese and wine sessions every evening are a great touch. The only down side was due to roadwork/construction work at times square it was a little noisy at nights but this was an exception and not the norm.
So next time we visit New York the Casablanca is top of our list and I look forward to going back.

The hotel is small and intimate. The staff are impeccable, polite, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is as Central as you can get so don't expect tranquility.

Breakfast is excellent with lots of nice fresh food. The rooms are not luxurious but clean and comfortable. The afternoon cheese and wine excellent.

Cannot be complementary enough about this hotel. Well done to everyone at the Casablanca.
