“Believe the Good Reviews”
Reviewed 12 August 2010

We stayed for 2 nights in August and do not have much to add to the good reviews of this place. On the same trip we also stayed 3 nights at a big 4* (the London NYC). If a spacious room is important then go to the London NYC or another suite hotel--but for charm and freebies and location the Casablanca is simply wonderful. Our room was small (queen) but we were very lucky to get an inside (courtyard) room that was very quiet. For a longer stay we would definitely opt to pay extra for a bigger room as the bed and table/chairs took up most of the space. Huge closet though. We have also stayed at the sister hotel the Library which we also highly recommend. This group of hotels must have a wonderful management to do so well. Kudos. Oh...it was a birthday celebration and the Casablanca had a free bottle of bubbly for us on arrival! Just lovely.

Great small hotel steps from the action of Times Square. It felt more like staying with friends in the city. First floor lobby buffet offers breakfast, all day coffee, tea, cool drinks and biscuits with an honour bar of wine and savoury from 5 til 8 pm., including popcorn for the children with a good list of DVD rental when exhausted at the end a full day.
This has all been said before I know, but everything offered was first class and well done. Bathroom amenities lovely too, with good quality towels and equipment. Fast free internet and print facilty also.
The small two lifts are slow and querky though, if this could worry you.
We would never stay anywhere else now we have stayed here where you feel safe recognised and relaxed.
Rooms need a bit of work as there was no fridge in our mini suite and the aircon wire stops the full closure of windows, this added to insufficient light blackout, could also be an issue.
These small points are easily overlooked by the overall high value of welcome, service and relaxation..a true oasis of calm right at the centre of it all.
Fantastic

We stayed at The Casablanca four nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very conscientious, accomodating and genuinely helpful. They really want you to enjoy your time in NYC and were so helpful! The wine and cheese reception was a great way to start the evenings before going out into the whirlwind that is Times Square, and the city itself. Breakfast provided in the morning was a great way to start the day, and a real money saver as meals in NYC are expensive (as is everything!) It was very similiar to a Bed and Breakfast type of experience. I would stay again.

Great Location. Excellent service. Wine and Cheese in the evenings was a very nice touch. Free breakfast was very nice quality with a good selection. Rooms a tad small, but honestly did not spend a lot of time in the room.

Hotel Casablanca has it all. Relaxation in its comfortable library, great complimentary breakfast and wine and cheese hours (the cheeses are superb), wonderful place for an afternoon or before show rest. Close to everything. Rooms comfortable, bath products luxurious. Staff so kind, welcoming and helpful. Second stay here and it surely won't be the last.

Our first time in New York booked hotel based on reviews and was not disappointed. The location was great and the service could not have been better, helpful and a genuine effort to please. The included breakfast and the afternoon wine and cheese was really enjoyable. The only downside which is probably due to cost of space were the very small rooms which if they could move some big furniture out it would help, noisy air conditioning as well but ok for four night but not any longer you would get claustrophobic.
