“Amazing- couldn't have asked for better.”

I could really not fault this hotel! All of the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming! There was always someone ready to open the door for you or to help answer any questions you many have. The hotel is loacted just off times square a less than a minute walk and your there which was excellent. The room was really nice and clean and the bathroom had lots of amienites in it and bath robes for you to wear. Air conditioning was great as well for the hot nights. The food on offer was great, there was so much choice at breakfast and it always looked fresh and appetizing. If you came back to the hotel in the middle of the day there was always cookies, muffins, fruit and biscuits which you could help yourself to and fresh lemonade was always put out so you could just relax for a little while. They also had wine and cheese evenings which you could attend for no extra cost which we didn't get time to do but i thought that was a nice touch. There is also a computer you can use for free to browse on the internet or stay in touch to people at home, whatever really! It had a printer as well in case you needed a hard copy of anything. It was really good and i would def stay there again if i went back.

We stayed here for a long weekend and were very pleased with the accommodations. The service was absolutely fantastic and is the hotel's number one asset. From the front desk to the bellhops to the cleaning crew, everyone was extremely helpful and courteous. They gave us an extra hour to check out without any hassle.

The rooms themselves are nice, and like all hotel rooms in New York, small. We stayed in a premium room on the 6th floor, and got the extra 25 square feet. Again, you're in NYC so you're not going to find huge hotel rooms at very many places.

We chose this hotel because it was listed on TripAdvisor's "Top 25 hotels" list for 2010. I'd have to say that while we have no serious complaints, I'm not sure you can objectively rate a hotel as one of the top 25 hotels in the entire country if the premium level room is only 275 square feet with a smaller TV screen not much counter space in the bathroom. That's not a complaint so much as a general observation... take the rating for what it's worth.

All that said, again, it's very nice. Quiet for Times Square, which is a great plus. Great water pressure in the bathrooms, which were newer and clean. The heat was a little high on the 6th floor, so when we entered the very warm room, the bellhop turned on the AC for us. We ended up keeping it on all weekend to regulate the temp, even though it was below freezing temps outside. This is probably not the best thing for the hotel's AC units, but again, the bellhop turned it on for us and we needed cooler air. In addition, the unit seemed to spew out some dirt/debris, which in turn rubbed into the carpet when stepped on, so that was a little troublesome.

All in all, though, we would not hesitate to return. Plus, no bed bugs! If you're looking for a clean, comfortable stay in Times Square with excellent service, you can't go wrong here.

This is a wonderful hotel. It is like an oasis of calm and quiet, only yards from Times Square. The staff cannot do enough for you, the 'extras' (breakfast, wine and cheese reception and the pianist) make it a unique experience. The rooms are fine, tasteful and well equipped. This is a magical hotel, not simply just for the price and location but for the genuine top quality service and standards.
I'm almost reluctant to recommend it for fear that others will find out and it becomes too busy!
We will only stay at the Casablanca when travelling to New York.

This was a perefectly located hotel for our first trip together to NY, just off Times Sqaure. It's just a stroll to the heart of the action but off to the side just enough to allow peaceful respite from the bustle whenever you want it.

The staff and service just couldn't be better. The feel of the hotel was very comfortable yet also very relaxed and welcoming.

We loved it!

Our second time in the Casablanca after 4 years from our previous visits, and again it didn't dissapoint. Yes, the rooms are in the small side and yes, you could probably find cheaper and still good hotels in the area, but the Casablanca distances itself from the pack by providing superior service and small but important quality touches.

Pros
------
1) Service: You won't find nicer staff in New York, period. They will go above and beyond to satisfy any request you have. Thanks Johan from Veronica and Ignacio for all the advice on Broadway shows, you really made our day and gave us the best welcome to NYC. The people at the front desk, the bar, and the reception were also phenomenal.
2) Coziness: After -walking through 5 Celsius (low 20 Farenheits) degrees outside, getting inside was the best feeling. Always received with a smile. And the hotel is furnished and decorated with exquisite taste even being thematic.
3) The extras: - Amazing breakfast buffet, always fresh and delicious, with bagels toasted to order, muffins, pastries, fruit salad, yogurts, etc, and the best espresso coffee I've tried anywhere (and I've traveled to quite a few places all around the world).
- Refreshments (including espressos, lattes and capuccinos, american coffee, tea, pastries, muffins, lemonade and fruit) available 24 hours a day for free (you can carry it outside with you).
- Wifi in your room and in the entire hotel, PC with internet to print out your boarding passes: free
- First quality toiletries.
- Wine and cheese reception everyday from 5 to 8 PM: Excellent. Chardonnay, Prosecco or Merlot, cheeses, nuts, grapes and the best New York flatbread money can buy. And you get it included in your rate.
- NYC themed DVDs to watch anytime you want and get in the spirit for some more walking.
- They'll even give you and umbrella if it's raining!
4) Location: Literally steps from Times Square.
5) Quietness: I'm a very light sleeper and I was steps away from the busiest square in the world. I slept like a baby.

Cons
------
- Rooms on the small side.
- Not the cheapest hotel, but again, with all the extras it's definitely worth it.
- Small complaint: They don't mention the free pass to the fitness center, you need to ask for it. Anyway we didn't have the time to use it, so we didn't ask.

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Me and my wife had the time of our life. Thanks again Johan and all the staff at the Casablanca!

My wife and I visited New York for the second time in January 2011, and again stayed at the Casablanca. The location is fantastic - great subway connections to almost anywhere in NY and an easy walk to most theatres. The staff sometimes come across as a little amateurish, but they are always friendly and helpful. We like the relaxed atmosphere, the lounge with its 24 hour help-yourself refreshments and the value is excellent - especially considering that a substantial continental breakfast is included. On each occasion we have stayed here our room has been quiet and comfortable. Small, yes - but well-equipped and great value for $240 or so.

Other guests have invariably been nice, friendly people who are also very happy with the hotel - which makes for a pleasant, "at-home" atmosphere.

Ate at Tony's and the Brooklyn Diner which are on either side of the hotel - both good standby's with hearty, good value food. The pizza is great at the Brooklyn and the servings at Tony's are fresh and enormous.

This is a great hotel in many ways - perfect location half a block from Times square, superb service, free afternoon wine & cheese plus 24 hour drinks and snacks, good breakfast and a very cosy atmosphere. However the rooms are a little on the smaller side even in NY standards, and the price is somewhat high given that this is not a luxury hotel - other excellent hotels in the area, such as the Hampton Inns and the Hilton Garden Inn, charge significantly lower prices.

Overall - if you are looking for a unique hotel and are willing to pay the price for it - this hotel is an excellent choice.
