Owner description: Not all bike tours are created equal. Since 2001, the expert, experienced, professional guides of Bike the Big Apple have been safely taking guests far off the "beaten path" - in all 5 boroughs! With us, you will venture into real ethnic neighborhoods, and experience what life is like beyond the skyscrapers. In fact, we are quite proud to still be the only company to do bike tours of our beloved Bronx - seldom seen by visitors to the city. Why take a bike tour? Walking tours are severely limited in the distance they can travel; you are either going to visit a very small area of the city, or spend half of your day underground. Bus tours can cover plenty, but you are completely removed from the neighborhoods by glass. On bike, you can cover much and still get a real "feel" for the neighborhoods we take you to.Come ride with us!

We loved this ride on our first day in NY. It was great to see lower Manhattan, the bridges and Brooklyn Heights at such an intimate level. The traffic was never a problem. Highly recommend this tour.

During a 7 hour tour, we were able to see lots of different places, accompanied by interesting stories and facts, some of which you would never be able to find from a tour guide. Our guides Max and Richard did a great job accompanying us through the busy streets of the city, so we felt safe, entertained and happy throughout the trip. I would highly recommend this to anyone who's okay with biking!

Mark was a fantastic tour guide. Informative and VERY funny. We went on the Harlem and Central Park tour. We would have never considered venturing to Harlem without this tour. Beautiful city and very memorable. Was able to go to church and to see church members passionately singing and dancing.
Also Mark gave a fantastic overview if the history of Central Park and it really left us so much more appreciative if the park and New Yorkers.

I really enjoyed it because I could have never seen those things in Brooklyn if I went there on my own. It was not a simple classic touristic tour but a tour off the beaten track.
Jesse, our guide, was really prepared about the history of New York and Brooklyn.
He brought us to see many different areas in Brooklyn explaining how the people live now and lived in the past and also giving us details about the architecture.
He really knows a lot.
A bike tour is really a nice way of seeing a lot without getting too tired.

Ray and Kennith both seem to have an endless supply of energy, knowledge, and smiles to share. As a local (and one that happens to love sunset bike rides with friends) they still managed to amaze me. Taking us to hidden romantic alleys of NYC, going down the West Side Highway and through Battery Park and over the Brooklyn Bridge just in time to catch the sunset! The skyline looked like it was on fire. It was magnificent. Made tons of new friends from all over the world and was able to snap some photos of NYC from a whole new angle. Thanks Ray and Kennith! Looking forward to being a tourist in my home city with you guys again sometime soon!
