My wife and I stayed here a few weeks ago and we enjoyed it. It was a perfect location. The front guest employees were great. We will be staying again in the future.
I travel a lot due to work and there wasn't anything too bad about the stay.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay in New York. By chance I booked this place in exactly the same street as where we stayed on a previous trip so can make a good comparison. The hotel lobby was clean and tidy and we were greeted warmly by staff who checked up in efficiently. The hotel is tall and skinny and the last time we stayed further up the street, we could wait 10 minutes for a lift, but this was not a problem in this hotel, same number of lifts, 2. Very strange, but welcome! The room was big enough, spotlessly clean and the room was made up beautifully each day by housekeeping. The shower was great and we made use of a soak in the bath too after a long day on our feet. The star of this show is the breakfast and the staff that work in the mornings. Plenty of hot fresh and varied food. Tables were kept clean and the staff were so friendly each morning. A special mention must go to Theresa who was a delight! She should get a rise. There is nothing more I can say, there is no reason not to give 5 stars as there were no problems. If you want a smart swanky hotel room where you have to pay extra for breakfast and wifi, then go elsewhere, but the smart money will be on this option every time. I would return to this hotel as it ticked all the boxes. In NYC you spend little time in your room but when you do you need it to be clean and comfortable which this place is and the breakfast, with cinnamon rolls, well a real bonus! The only other thing of significant note is that there are only 6 rooms on each floor and as the hotel was probably not full, we heard no noise from anybody coming or going to their room, no slamming doors or loud voices which was a real bonus.

Room Tip: I should think they are all as good as each other

We stayed here for three nights from 18th Feb with our 17 year old daughter and her friend and had two King rooms. The girls room was across the landing from ours, but with only 6 rooms per floor felt secure. Rooms were big enough and beds and pillows were sooooo comfy - need to know where they get them from!! Rooms were soundproofed as no noise whatsoever. They were very clean, and the shower was really powerful!
Free breakfast was a good start to each day - best thing was the pancake machine! There was a selection of breads & pastries and hot items to choose from. The girls used to nip down and take their food back to their room if the breakfast room was crowded.
Reception staff, a lovely lady named Juicy, gave us a late checkout as I had registered for Holiday Inn rewards.
Hotel is in a good location, about a ten min walk to Times Square and the same to Macy's and Empire State. Neighbourhood is safe.
Starbucks and food shops within a two minute walk, and an Irish bar about four doors down which does lovely food - had the lunchtime menu with soup and sandwich for $16, with huge portions.
Ate at the Italian, Mercarto, across the street from the Hotel - food was nice, but have eaten at better places. Had Burgers at Juniors, just off Times Square, massive portions again and Cheesecake to die for! Best meal by far was Benito 1, an Italian in Little Italy - the best Bruschetta ever and again, huge portions, would definately share a pasta dish if I ever go again!! Had lunch at Fluffy's cafe, they do the nicest Feta and Spinach pie, and really good pasta dishes.
Asked Concierge to prices for a Town Car back to the Airport and advised we would need a Sedan for four passengers and four cases for $80. Went back to book and were then told we would have to book the next sized car, at an extra $60!! Alex on Reception came to our rescue when he checked our cases and said we would fit four in a Sedan, he booked this for us at a cost of $72
Would not hesitate to book this hotel again!

Room Tip: Ask for room on higher floors for less road noise and better views

Dear poplar3,

We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We hope you had a great time here in New York and were able to take home some happy memories. We truly appreciate that you have recognized Juicy for providing outstanding service and Alex for being there when you needed him. Our team members pride themselves in going above and beyond for our guest to ensure that your stay is nothing less of spectacular. I agree with Benito One being one of your best restaurants, with so many restaurant around the area it’s hard to choose just one, however walking distance from our location I would also recommend Carmine’s Midtown, this family style Italian restaurant is definitely on my top 5 restaurant picks. Thanks again for the kind feedback and we wish you the absolute best in your travels and hope to welcome you again on your next visit.

When going to Times Square, I always arrive from Penn station (from Newark airport, best ans ceapest way by train).

This hotel sits right in the middle between Penn and TS. Only there for a short stay, the rooms are nothing to write to your mother about, however. Quite small. Furnitures were not meant to fit in that kind of room. Reminds me of Japan lol

Staff is vey professionnal, however did not try as hard as I would have expected to meet my small requests. Breakfast was good, but the set-up again is all packed in a little area.

But this is NYC prime location. And the price is very affodble. and You are not here to stay in the room. So, I recommend this hotel if you are an IHC fan. I'll stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room

Just got back today 24/02/14, Hotel is in excellent location, (Not in Times Square as the name would suggest but only an 8 min walk away) rooms are clean and tidy and maid service is very proffesional, breakfast is ok, loads of bagels, muffins, pancakes etc etc, bacon does not come out often enough ! Spoke to a local at breakfast and he said in the summer the rooms can fetch upto 400 a night ! They are not worth that, but are worth 100-150.

Overall great hotel and great location, would use again on next visit.
