This hotel is excellent. The staff made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived until after we left. We had quite an ordeal getting to the hotel but were instantly cheered up by the tremendously friendly staff. Room was ideal and location is perfect. All staff from cleaners to bar staff seemed to genuinely enjoy their work and were always friendly.

I even left something behind by mistake (a present for a friend) and the staff arranged to ship it to the UK for me which was fantastic.

I have told several people how good this hotel is and would recommend to anybody. I will also be staying here whenever I go to New York in future.

I've stayed here on business trips since they first opened and I've never had an uneven stay or poor experience. Rooms are clean, modern and quiet. Staff is always helpful. Restaurant has always had very good food and there is also a tiny bar which will serve food. There is a small workout room with free weights, bikes and treadmills. Subway is half a block away and restaurants are 2-3 blocks. The street is a bit industrial which is my only drawback. The Hudson River is nearby and about a 15 minute walk. Prices are usually higher during Fashion Week in September.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms face the back of the hotel and get more sun.

This is a good value hotel considering the location and the competition. Staff were generally helpful, and the rooms were relatively well kitted out.

The location is very handy and well served by subway. It is a short walk into the main part of Soho.

Minor quibble : I don't like the wall mounted heater - one would normally expect central heating for a hotel like this.

Room Tip: They want you to pay more for city facing views - I'm not sure this is worth it. You're in...

Clean, comfortable, rooms and accomodating staff, Perfect Village/Soho location. Gym could be better; no real business center--just computer terminals next to bat--but hey--for $220/night--this till fits the bill. This is my my go-to place now, when staying in lower Manhattan.

The hotel is located in a such great neighbourhood, and allows you to walk the streets of SoHo and surrounding neighbourhoods without having to worry about taking a cab. The staff was great, the room was very nice and clean. It was on the small side, but that's NYC for you. It was good for a couple. I would definitely stay there again!

We selected this hotel because we could stay here for a reasonable amount of Starwoods points. We were checked in quickly and efficiently as soon as we arrived in the early afternoon.

As Starwoods Gold members we were upgraded to a room on the top floor. The room faced out the back of the building with surprisingly lovely skyline view, including the Freedom Tower.

The room was small but not atypically so by Manhattan standards. Despite the built in desk and the wardrobe there's enough room to walk around both sides of the king size bed. The bathroom is also small but not tiny. One thing to be aware of is that the bathroom door is frosted rather than opaque, so if the light's on in the bathroom the room gets flooded with light.

The only real noise on the 21st floor was the slamming of other room doors which is unavoidable. The air conditioning was very effective as well.

The toiletries are very basic with dispensers mounted on the shower wall rather than in little bottles. This got to be a problem towards the end of the trip since twice daily showers in the sticky August NYC weather drained our entire supply of shower gel.

No breakfast is included which is standard for American hotel chains. There is a perfectly acceptable breakfast/lunch/convenience store on the corner at which you can pick up a typical New York breakfast of an H&H bagel and a cup of coffee to go.

The hotel's area is convenient to SoHo as well as Spring Street shopping, including the home of the infamous Cronut.

Best of all it is also extremely convenient to stops for the 1 and C subway lines. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms at the rear of the hotel have a view of Freedom Tower.

Arriving on a red-eye from Los Angeles, we hoped to get an early check-in when we arrived at the hotel. Unfortunately, they were totally booked so we left our bags and the front desk told us they would call us when a room was ready! Wow- thanks. When we arrived back at the hotel- she said our room was ready ( it was around noon) and they upgraded us. As Starwood Gold members- that was a nice perk especially using points. The rooms are a bit snug- but nice and clean. GREAT view from the room. The thing I want to stress in this review was their attitude and service of everyone at the hotel- rare to find these days. They get an A+ for customer service- we will be back!

Room Tip: The views of downtown from the back of the building are fantastic! Especially of the new world trade...
