I have performed in Carnegie Hall over 20 times and have attended concerts there many times as well. The experiences on both sides of the proscenium have always been memorable, and this is a must-see venue in New York. It is best experienced in a concert setting, but the tours are interesting as well if you only have time to see it rather than experience it. But in concerts, the hall really shines. The acoustics are almost perfect, the building itself is gorgeous, both outside and inside, and any niggling discomforts like tight seats, steep stairs and the like can be overlooked since the hall is over 100 years old and still maintains its sacred status as a performance venue. The backstage crew are remarkable as well, and I look forward to returning to the Hall many more times, both to perform and to be an audience member.

As we walked by Carnegie Hall we went in and asked for tickets and to our suprise we could still get tickets for the same evening. You can get tickets for a fraction of a broadway show. We had seats at the first ring, totally on the left side. You need to make a bit of an effort to see the whole stage, sound is still great.
Theater is nothing like the old concert halls in Europe.
Nice relaxing evening activity, if you're longer than a few days in the city

Breathtaking architecture was a constant distraction from enjoying the show. But the acoustics and lighting were perfectly matched to the quality of the choir and orchestra so as my mind wandered I found that the setting played a part in the overall experience. A definite vote for repeating the experience. Staff was the only downer, unfortunately. I just put them out of my mind and concentrate on the show.

I was blessed to be able to perform here through the generosity of the Weil Foundation. This venue is hallowed ground and is among the most revered concert venues in the world. One step inside and you'll understand why. Incredible acoustics, an amazing museum, and breathtaking architecture inside and out will enchant you as it did me.

It is just amazing to sit in such a famous and historical venue. So many famous artists have "played" here! We were at Carnegie Hall for a graduation ceremony. We appreciated the ambiance and the architecture.

I can see that it would be worthwhile to come back for a concert.
