I have performed in Carnegie Hall over 20 times and have attended concerts there many times as well. The experiences on both sides of the proscenium have always been memorable, and this is a must-see venue in New York. It is best experienced in a concert setting, but the tours are interesting as well if you only have time to see it rather than experience it. But in concerts, the hall really shines. The acoustics are almost perfect, the building itself is gorgeous, both outside and inside, and any niggling discomforts like tight seats, steep stairs and the like can be overlooked since the hall is over 100 years old and still maintains its sacred status as a performance venue. The backstage crew are remarkable as well, and I look forward to returning to the Hall many more times, both to perform and to be an audience member.
