We were initially hesitant about booking the tour as the only one available on the day we chose was the six hour tour. However, within 30 minutes of being on the tour we were so happy that we chosen to book. Our tour guide was Trey who was a brilliant guide. The tour is extremely well thought out in making sure that busy spots are quickly followed by quieter ones. That opportunities to take in new information are broken down into comprehensible chunks, that restroom stops and refreshments breaks are timely built into the day. The tour takes you to places where tour buses just couldn't get and you would be highly unlikely to experience doing a tour on your own. Trey made sure that he made time to speak to everyone in our group individually and was easy to talk to. He gave us valuable, time saving information on how to visit other places of interest, e.g. Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Tower and Hell's Kitchen, and the best places to eat or chill out. He even helped us to save a fortune in getting to and from JFK airport rather than shelling out on a taxi, which we found in New York traffic actually takes longer than using public transport. There were only ten of us on the tour and so it was nothing like the tours you often see with the guide holding up an umbrella to keep the group together. We did the tour on our first day in New York and I would recommend that others do it this way. It gave us a springboard to then decide where we wanted to go back and visit again, where we'd like to eat in the evening and an introduction into how to get around this huge city. Trey even gave us all his cell phone number at the end of the tour telling us to text/call him if we needed any further help during our visit. Well worth every penny and next time in New York we will definitely be using this company again.
