We spent 8 nights in a clean and very quiet standard studio at the 15th floor. The king bed was very comfortable but the roll-away not at all! The tiny kitchenette had plates, cutlery and glasses just for 2 people although we were 3. Free breakfast is very good but the breakfast room is definitely too small, cable tv is also very good although at first is just a little complicated. UWS is a very nice and quite neighborhood and The Milburn is also close to subway stations and above all to Zabar's, Citarella, Fairway and West Side Market: the best to get quality food to bring in your room. Ladies Staff are very capable and friendly, we''ll definitely stay again.

My husband, son and myself enjoyed a three night stay at the Milburn in a superior type suite.
It was comprised of a tiny kitchenette, a good sized living room/ pullout sofa bedroom and a large, proper bedroom with a huge, comfortable bed (King Sized I think!) Location was great at Broadway/Amsterdam Avenues and street crowds were interesting, bustling and polite. Grocers and wine shops were just around the corner as well as a subway entrance. Hudson River view was three to four blocks west - Central Park was the same to the east. Interior of suite was clean and comfortable. Kitchenette was microwave, frig and some plates and silverware. Our call to the front desk for an extra setting and a fry pan or pot was ignored: we had a hot plate which we could not use unless we bought our own pans. Halls were dated and worn but clean. Staff were generally polite and helpful.
Sunday morning breakfast was a battle! Entrance was delayed because of guest volume and staff members used their crowd control skills. We did not attempt to partake of the breakfast again after the one try. My kudos to the two Milburn staff gentlemen on duty! More empathic guests could have made the whole operation more tolerable. A lot of guests grabbed plates of food and headed back to their room....smart move! Breakfast basically bread, waffles, fruit, juice, tea and coffee.
Just one word about the website....do not think that you will get a view of anything but the buildings on either side and the street below.....I enjoyed a "Rear Window" view of apartments behind the buildings - it reminded me of Paris with their terraces and roof top gardens. Very interesting but certainly no viewpoint of Central Park or any huge green space.
On the whole, a good stay although we spent a bit more money than we normally do - $290 per night, which for NYC is pretty well in line. Would recommend!~

We spent three nights here. The location is wonderful -- on a quiet UWS street, an easy walk to Central Park and Riverside Park (both of which are great to run in.) The location is very neighborhood-y (in fact, my husband lived in this very neighborhood for more than 20 years). We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite so our teenage daughter (and we) could have privacy. By NYC standards, it was *huge*. It felt like our very own apartment. Our suite had a kitchenette, too. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and was clean. The bed was comfortable, though our daughter said the pullout sofa in the living room was a little uncomfortable at first. Our room was quiet -- we didn't hear outside noise, except for sirens a couple times. It is a very nice thing when I don't need my earplugs in NYC! Breakfast was generous by "Continental breakfast" standards, with breads, bagels (our daughter said they were good ones), cereal, hardboiled eggs, juice, tea and coffee (though the coffee was a bit weak for our taste --a tiny problem.) After we checked out, my husband discovered he'd left a pair of pants behind. When he called, the hotel staff located them (and a shirt he didn't realize he'd forgotten) and held them for us to collect at our convenience. We plan on staying here next time we're in NYC.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and got one. It was at the end of the 13th floor hallway and we heard almo...

We stayed in this hotel overnight. Room was nice - we were able to fit a roll away bed. Staff was friendly. Free breakfast was great - fresh bagels, fruit, juice, cold cereal, coffee, tea and yummy pound cake!

The hotel is nice and clean but the room i stayed in had the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in a New York hotel. It was very clean but very small. The room itself was a perfect size with a very comfortable bed. In general, the hotel staff was nice except when i checked out. They were just a little cold. They were much nicer when checking in. GREAT LOCATION !!!

Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan island, at 76th and Broadway. Close to subway station. I would stay here again.

1. staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Raquel in particular was very helpful. I had trouble booking our room online - you get a discount if you book online. I could not get the website to confirm that my room had a king sized bed. I called the hotel and Raquel was great and helped me out; took care of everything. I was thrilled that she was working they day we checked in.

2. The Milburn has three desktop computers for customers to use. They also have tons of books for children, adults, teens in their parlor that customers can borrow.

3. Complimentary continental style breakfast. H&H bagels, muffins, pastries, fresh fruit, freshly cooked hard boiled eggs, cereal, juice, milk, coffees, tea, yogurt and more. On Sunday, they make Belgian waffles for you. Harney and Sons tea.

4. The room was in very good condition. Could use a little more TLC - for instance, the door knob for our bathroom door was loose. We reported it, and staff fixed it ASAP. The bath tub floor was dark with old dirt - could have used a good scouring. Water on/off handle leaked water when turned on. The clock radio didn't work at all. We just had wake up calls instead.

5. Two good sized flat screen TVs in the unit - one in the living room, with CD/DVD player, and one in the bedroom.

6. Bedroom was separate from the living room, and, had a door separating the two spaces. Living room had queen sized sleeper sofa, and small kitchenette which was adequate for our needs - microwave oven, small refrigerator, small bar sink. Dishes, glasses, mugs and cutlery enough for two. We were a bit confused as to what was included in housekeeping - we had washed our own dishes and let them air dry - maid did not put our dishes away for us even though they were clean and dry. Not a big problem, just curious.

7. Bed linens were of good quality. Bath towels were of excellent quality - white, fluffy, soft, absorbent. Good sized closets in bedroom and living room; ample wood hangers. Phones in living room, bed room, and bathroom.

8. Separate air conditioning controls for the two separate rooms - one for living room, one for bedroom. AC was quiet and worked extremely well. Came in handy while we were there - high 80's, 90's and humid.

9. Staff was excellent - from the front desk to the maid to the janitors and breakfast room attendants. Any questions or concerns were taken care of quickly. Excellent!

10. Great location. Away from Midtown and the hordes of tourists. Close to Columbia University - very short subway ride. Also close to great shops including Zabar's, Citarella, Europan Bakery and Café, Mille Feuille French bakery - why bother eating out when you can get superior quality food from any of these gourmet shops/bakeries and eat like a king at a fraction of the cost of eating at a restaurant?

Also, Barney's of NY, L'Occitaine, Stuart Weitzman, and others.

11. About a 45 minute cab ride to LaGuardia Airport - relatively easy ride, despite construction on northeastern part of the island leading to RFK bridge. Easy to hail a cab - just walk to the corner and stick out your arm! So many cabs driving on Broadway, we had no problems getting a cab quickly.

12. Two elevators that were in excellent working order.

We walked everywhere in this neighborhood and had a great time. No problems at all. Great people watching, great shops - everything we needed, wanted, and more. Loved the vibe and pace of the area. Walked to Lincoln Center - not a problem!

Beautiful, old building, lovely interior. Lovely decor in our suite. An excellent experience.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors take longer for hot water to reach them during 'down' times. In the A...

Our family of 4 stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was spacious and comfortable. One kid slept on pull out sofa, another on a roll away. Had a small kitchenette and huge bathroom. Staff were all very friendly, my son needed sheets without bleach, so they were very accomodating and gave us a brand new set. It was nice having the continental breakfast - if tables are full, you can fill a plate to go. Location was great - just 3 blocks from a subway station to the north or south. Lots of great restaurants close by north of the hotel. It's nice and quiet there and there are 2 markets within a block. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room with a large bathroom ahead of time and I got them.
