“A refreshing change”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

Have just spent three nights at the seton, really enjoyed our stay, really good location, helpful friendly staff, very clean rooms, it was refreshing to stay at a hotel that doesn't look like all the others in terms of decor. We stayed in a two bed room, it was very clean, decent size for NY nicely decorated and comfortable (really good pillows). No noise problems at all. Downstairs coffee and tea facility was handy, coffee good. A good stay, would recommend

We came to this hotel not knowing what to expect as we weren't sure of how the 'shared bathroom' system would go, but we were pleasantly surprised. Not once did we have to wait to use it and the hotel was clean, easy access and our room was a little small, however enough for us as we were only going to sleep there (we are in NYC!).

We wanted to single out the outstanding and professional service of the entire staff there, in particular Emmanuel and Da'ryl - they were brilliant! Always there to help us and give us great advice on where to go and how to get there.

If you are after a BARGAIN and want to stay in an awesome location, don't waste your time booking anywhere else. We had a wonderful experience :)

My partner and two friends and I stayed at the Seton Hotel on a weekend trip to see three Broadway musicals. The hotel is lovely and is situated in an excellent location right near Grand Central Station, Times Square and the Broadway theatres. Even though the hotel is close to all of these places it is on a quiet street that allows guests to escape the noise of the city. The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the Seton Hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights on February. It was ok for the price I paid in that area, a great location, with just a 5 minute walk from grand central station. The staff were friendly and the free wifi was so helpful. The room isn't that big but ok for 2 luggage. Bathroom was clean, too. Highly recommended.

My sister and I stayed at the Seton June 27th-30th in a shared bathroom double room on the 2nd floor room 207. Overall our experience was great and we would recommend the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance (10 min) of major areas such as Times Square, Empire State Building and 5th Avenue.

Our room was cozy and had some nice features like a new sink with nice lighting (chandelier) and a mirror to do our makeup. The room was equipped with 2 medium towels for showering and smaller ones for drying your hands. It also came with a iPod Dock (not compatible with 5c/5s), tv, hair dryer, bathrobes (cannot keep), and slippers (can keep). Our room temperature was comfortable, but when we had been out in the hot sun all day we turned on the ac. Keep in mind that this room is small, but it is meant for sleeping, getting ready and not hanging out.

As for those who worry about the shared bathroom, only once did I have to wait for someone because it was occupied and that was for 2 minutes. The bathroom looked very clean and definitely new. Some reviews mention that the key cannot be taken with, but that's because it's not a card, but an action room key. Honestly it's a relief just in case you lose your stuff, you don't lose that or it you're out and get drunk. Besides there is ALWAYS someone at the counter to give it to you.

I'd say book a room because it's worth it!

Several friends of mine and I stayed at the Seton for four nights very recently. It's in a great midtown location very close to the Grand Central terminal, making subway and train access (and thus access to most of the rest of the city) a breeze.

The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean, modern, and well-kept. The rooms are small (although no smaller than one would expect from a midtown hotel), so we considered this more of a place to relax and sleep than anything else. There's a small sitting room and free coffee, but travelers will be best off going to a nearby bar or cafe for sitting around time, as the sitting room can get a bit packed when other folks are waiting for transportation.

Finally, we all stayed in rooms with private bathrooms, but I did glance into our floor's two shared bathrooms. For anyone considering this option, the bathrooms are both private in the sense that they are single-occupant, so anyone wary of showering in a stall next to a stranger shouldn't worry. The bathrooms also appeared very clean, and both of them were unoccupied probably 90% of the times I walked past them on my way to a room. I would definitely consider a shared bathroom if I stay in this hotel again to save on room rates.
