if you are looking for a change from mid-town Manhattan, check out Gild Hall. We pass through NYC every few months and have switched over to always staying here. So different and warm compared to the big chains, and more predictable and organized than typical boutique hotels.

Quiet, clean, safe, honest, great classy style, sophisticated and personable staff. Anthony Vasquez, the night manager, is the go-to guy when you have a "mission impossible".

Room Tip: the upgrade rooms have high ceilings and more space.....worth it

I was staying with friends in Williamsburg when my allergies were out of control due to their cat. I hotwire-d and was so pleased that Gild Hall came up. I was pleasantly surprised at the price and accommodations.

When you walk into this hotel, it smells like how I imagine Tom Ford to smell. The lobby is very welcoming and chic. The rooms are top notch, especially by NYC standards. Bathroom was impeccable and the bed was very comfortable. C.O. Bigeleow products, slippers, and robe are nice touches to an already great experience.

Location-wise, it's pretty far south so if you're looking for a central place it's not ideal. However, the Fulton stop is very close so getting around is very easy.

My husband and I are from NJ, and it was a nice treat to be able to stay in the city for the weekend for his birthday. We were pleasantly greeted by, friendly, helpful, staff at the valet/ front desk. The welcome champagne was a nice surprise! The decor is professional while warm, and all the accommodations in the room had everything you need. We highly recommend this hotel to those who are in the finical district or want to be close to the lower end of Manhattan. We even took a small trip to Williamsburg Brooklyn which is very close. We loved it here and plan on staying at other Thompson Hotels in the near future. A special thanks to - Esther Song!

Room Tip: 5th floor was great, even if you had to go down a flight for ice. I prefer to take the extra walk than to be in a room next to the ice machine.

Really great hotel! The decor was very cozy and hip with the use of lots of reclaimed wood and leather in the lobby. I also thought the books were a very nice touch in the lobby as well. I loved that the rooms were surprisingly bigger than your "usual" hotel room in NYC and they are very cozy and comfortable. The staff is very helpful and very kind to their guests and gives great suggestions on anything from restaurants to fun things to do around NYC. I plan on coming back the next time I stay in NYC!

Great hotel, highly recommend. Fabulous from A to Z, even the location in the financial district proved calm, a good respite from the loud and busy city pace. They got all the little details right, from windows that open to fabulous linens, generous upgrades, enthusiastic staff, welcome champagne, you name it.
