I come from the Asian New York (Hong Kong) and I am in the International Convention business and a pampered globe trotter.

When visiitng NYC I choose to stay in this very well run and friendly small guest house in the middle of Chelsea and I throughly enjoying my stay there. What I liked particularly was the complimentary usage of their business center and it is this very facility that is important to manyof their guests. A good business decision by the mangement as nowaways establishments must offer values to their clients! It shall be my first choice of stay in NYC for the future.

We were in New York for a college graduation. Every staff member we encountered at the hotel was friendly and helpful. We got three excellent restaurant recommendations from the staff--all were close by and delightful. Breakfast was of the highest quality and plentiful. Room was not large but adequate. No problems with noise. A great location one-half block from a subway station.

Room Tip: No elevator. Fourth floor is quite a hike.

First of all the hotel is located in Chelsea, one of our favourite areas of new york city, the position is central and perfect to visit the the city also on foot, then there is a metro station just 10 meters far from it.
Our room was a standard double, it was clean, confortable, nice movie posters on the walls, a good view on the inner garden of the hotel and quiet.
Bathroom was small but nice and clean.
We appreciated a lot that at the second floor of the hotel there is an open room where you can use two on-line computers for free, and wi-fi is free all day and night long!
Breakfast was very good and you can have it sitting in the garden, a pretty, quiet space to start the day, and not at least included in the hotel price.
But the most important reason to stay at Chelsea Pines Inn is the lovely Staff who works there 24 hours a day, pleasant warm cool people, always ready to help you with a smile!
At last we like to mention the unforgettable company of Charlie, the funny cat who lives in the hotel!!

It was the perfect destination for our honeymoon and the reviews don’t lie.

Free breakfast and snacks all day. It is great being able to have a glass of water and a cookie after a long day of tourist activities.

Very close to the Subway and lots of great neighbourhoods, restaurants and shops.

Staying in Chelsea felt like a real neighbourhood instead of being surrounded by tourists. I felt like we had a glimpse of what real New Yorkers experience instead of stuck in a mid-town hotel with 1,000s of others.

Extremely nice and helpful staff. They had excellent suggestions!

Just back from New York where we stayed at the absolutely fantastic Chelsea Pines Inn. From the warm and very friendly welcome as soon as we walked through the door on arrival, to the friendly, helpful reception as we left (at 5.00 in the morning!), we loved every minute of our stay.

On arrival, we received information on the local area, a list of recommended restaurants within walking distance and we were invited to the Thursday night drinks party (to celebrate the hotel's 25 years). The team at the hotel are all very friendly but, just as importantly, very professional - always allowing you complete privacy, but being available to help if required. Nothing is too much trouble.

The hotel is very clean and very tidy, breakfast is available till midday (or later) every day, you get a newsletter showing the weather for the day, things to do (and a note of the bread of the day for breakfast!!).

And the location is excellent too - 50 yards from the subway, surrounded by fantastic restaurants (every one we tried was excellent), 2 minutes from Chelsea market and 3 minutes from the new High Line walkway - which is well worth a visit.

We also loved meeting the hotel cat (Charlie Chaplin)... in fact, we managed to persuade him to sleep on our bed for the night!!

We wouldn't hesitate recommending the Chelsea Pines Inn. Thanks to the team for looking after us so well.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back overlook the lovely garden

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and chose it based on Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. The staff are very welcoming and happy to assist. The location is great as it's near a subway and the Chelsea Markets and many restaurants are within walking distance. We found the breakfast to be on the 'sweet' side, but that seems to be the way in America. The all day tea, coffee and snacks were very much appreciated. Jay and his team put on a wine and cheese night one evening and that was a great way to meet some of the other guests.
The bed was comfortable and lovely linen is supplied. Although the rooms are small, they are adequate for those who spend most of the time sightseeing and are just there to sleep. There was a 'hum' from the air conditioning unit which became more pronounced in the quiet of the night time, however they do supply a white noise machine to counteract this hum.
Overall, this is a great place to stay with friendly staff and in a good area of New York.
