Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Jay, Troy, Daniel, Rommel, and all the staff at the Chelsea Pines! My son Rich was married in Manhattan in September. Jay and all the staff welcomed myself, my family and friends! The accomodations were wonderful as always, the breasfasts delcious! and their welcome was heartfelt and so kind. They went out of their way to help us with details of travel, where to visit, etc. It is the most charming place to stay in all of New York! Fondly, Anne Fitzgerald

My sister and I stayed for three nights on our first visit to New York. Comfortable clean rooms (fab bed linen), excellent breakfast and all day snacks, amazing service. All the staff bent over backwards to help us. Safe and friendly district with excellent restaurants and the whole of New York on your drop step.

this was my fourth visit in the Chelsea Pines, approximately once every two years. While some places become tired after a while, this place just gets better and better. Rooms are on the small side (I was in a single) - but not as small as some others in NYC, particularly at this price range. Breakfast is getting better and better. The place maintains its (charming and unique) quirky feel but its maintenance and decor is constantly improving. Tiles, carpets, linen, towels - everything is prime. And somethings don't change - the great location, extremely friendly welcoming and wonderful staff. Thanks to each and every one of you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed at the Chelsea Pines Inn for a couple of nights in October 2012. We stayed here based on the reviews at trip advisor (so thank you all)...this place is amazing. Every person who works for the Chelsea Pines Inn was very helpful! They spent almost 10 minutes telling us where to go for lunch and dinner as well as things to do around the hotel. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. The shower was amazing!!! Also, the included breakfast was awesome!! Fresh muffins (blueberry, chocolate, etc...)! We want to thank all the staff at the Chelsea Pines Inn! We will stay there the next time that we are in NYC.

This review is overdue (sorry!) but what more could we add to all the stellar reviews Chelsea Pines Inn has received?!

Stayed here for 8 nights in July. We were a bit on a budget, so opted for the smaller room on a higher floor. Service was fantastic. We were always greeted with a friendly smile from whomever happened to be at the front desk, kitchen, or on any of the floors. Upon check-in, they helped us lug our luggage up to our room, and supplied us with maps and recommendations. Other times they printed out suggestions re: jazz clubs, eats, theatre shows, etc. in whatever area we happened to be that day. A lovely personal note and flowers were a nice touch to make us feel welcomed.

There aren't any elevators, and the rooms are a little worn, but it all adds to the charm and preservation of the place. It's clearly marked on their website as well the same. Loved the idea of that all the rooms are named after stars, with posters plastered on the walls. The air con worked fine, and kept our room cool. We thought we'd get a tiny room like previous stays at other NYC hotels, but were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and bathroom. We even had a view of the courtyard that added to the charm. At times it was hard work climbing those stairs after a long day exploring on our feet, but we just thought of all the pounds we were shedding post eating fest. The complimentary little touches also added up: daily breakfast, fruits, cookies, water, juices, and Nespresso machine available all day, and business center with internet, computers, and printer, and a morning newsletter telling guests about the day's weather and suggested itinerary.

Location was fantastic! We enjoyed this area much more than being in Times Square or Central Park. Chelsea/Meatpacking District/Greenwich area was great, so many little eateries, stores, and hidden gems to discover. It made us feel far less "touristy" and more like a local. And when we wanted to visit all the big stops, we were close to 2 subway stations (ACEL line or 123 lines).

There were some minor details: wifi wasn't great in our room, but we just hung out in the breakfast/patio area to check our emails. The TV was grainy and not working at one point (but that was quickly fixed).. and we hardly used it anyway. Breakfast was repetitive, but filling enough to give us a good start to our day (great bagels!). If you aren't able bodied, lack of elevator will be an issue. Also if you're allergic to animals, they do have a cat on the premise, but he knows when to be there and when to not be a bother (and he's adorable with his 'stauche!)

Highly recommend! We won't be jumping to another hotel when we're back in NYC.. hopefully there'll be a room for us! :)

This gorgeous hotel is an absolute gem - staffed by great guys who made me feel like I was a VIP guest. The location is perfect - just metres from a subway station and so close to all that this end of town has to offer. The room was large with a great bathroom and whisper quiet which I didn't think was possible in NYC and together with a comfy bed I slept very well! Breakfast is delicious and healthy too with lots of fresh fruit - such a treat. All the guys are very helpful, and nothing is too much trouble as they take a genuine interest in helping you find the attractions that suit. This hotel is fantastic value and well worth every cent - I have already recommended to friends who are traveling later this year. Thanks again for everything - it was a perfect start to my NYC trip.

Room Tip: I had a room on the top floor which was super quiet - it was hard to believe I was in NYC! My bag w...

This quaint gay owned hotel is run by a fantastic manager Troy. The Chelsea pines inn is truly fabulousssss! What the rooms lack in newness is far surpassed by some of the finest service in the world! I have stayed in so many 5 star hotels that didn't have near the charm and personal touch that this has. Everyone that works there smiles and goes do way far out of thier way to go the extra 100 miles! Troy and all the guys that work there really take pride in what they do and it shows. Sure you can pay less elsewhere but if you want to be truly pampered in a low key relaxed homey environment this area in the village is great for straight and gays alike!
