I booked for a week stay based on previous reviews. So my expectations were quite high, but they were surpassed in so many ways. The location is fantastic...14th Street is a major stop on most subway lines plus there are many eating spots and intriguing neighborhoods within walking distance. The Highline Park is less than 2 blocks away. The rooms are all you could want...cosy, quiet and spotless. But where Chelsea Pines excels is in customer service. The staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. You're not just a customer but a valued guest. As a solo traveller I really appreciated the many kindnesses I received and cannot believe the (very few) negative reviews. If you want a corporate style hotel, then it probably isn't for you but anyone who appreciates being treated as not just a number will love it.

The staff at Chelsea Pines Inn welcomed us warmly as we came through the door and made us feel a part of their family during our entire stay. Our daughter, who was attending Parsons summer academy, enjoyed her stay at the hotel as much as any other part of the trip. We felt like the staff really got to know us and made thoughtful recommendations for eating and recreational activities.

Chelsea Pines Inn is for anyone and everyone who wants a comfortable, stylish stay and the benefit of attentive and savvy hosts. Chelsea Pines is no flash in the pan, but a well established part of its community; that's invaluable for the out-of-towner who wants to get to know NYC, as the Inn straddles three great neighborhoods.

This was my third visit and it seems to get better each time. I arrived late and well after esimated time. I was checked in by the friendly and efficient Daniel {front of house - a great help later in my stay}.
My ground floor room was spotless and as well appointed as ever.
The staff who keep the rooms clean and tidy and keep the breakfast bar well stocked are friendly and hard working
The only one idle was Charlie the cat ! At that age it is permitted.
Wi-fi throughout with an internet room upstairs if you are not carrying your own - free of charge.
The extensive, included, breakfast - fresh fruit, breads, cereals, muffins, juices, coffe, tea, and an individual expresso machine all make for a good start to your New York Day
In the words of General Dougla McArthur "I will return"

Room Tip: There is no elevator and the upper stairs are quite steep. If, like me, you arn't up to them - a...

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Jay, Troy, Daniel, Rommel, and all the staff at the Chelsea Pines! My son Rich was married in Manhattan in September. Jay and all the staff welcomed myself, my family and friends! The accomodations were wonderful as always, the breasfasts delcious! and their welcome was heartfelt and so kind. They went out of their way to help us with details of travel, where to visit, etc. It is the most charming place to stay in all of New York! Fondly, Anne Fitzgerald

My sister and I stayed for three nights on our first visit to New York. Comfortable clean rooms (fab bed linen), excellent breakfast and all day snacks, amazing service. All the staff bent over backwards to help us. Safe and friendly district with excellent restaurants and the whole of New York on your drop step.

this was my fourth visit in the Chelsea Pines, approximately once every two years. While some places become tired after a while, this place just gets better and better. Rooms are on the small side (I was in a single) - but not as small as some others in NYC, particularly at this price range. Breakfast is getting better and better. The place maintains its (charming and unique) quirky feel but its maintenance and decor is constantly improving. Tiles, carpets, linen, towels - everything is prime. And somethings don't change - the great location, extremely friendly welcoming and wonderful staff. Thanks to each and every one of you for a wonderful stay.
