small but very convient and reasonable considering midtown manhattan location. My wife and I have stayed here on three seperate ocations in the past three months on buisness. The hotel has always been very clean and comfortable, and the staff professional and curteous. Not recomended for large familys.

Location of Carvi Hotel is really convenient to visit many of New York Attractions and point of interest. Also, Metro station is near.
As many of reviewers wrote, rooms are a bit smaller then usually, but you have whole comfort. We were at Carvi at summertime, so, with less baggage, and don’t have problems with closets, what could maybe happened at winter.
Room was clean and in good shape, bed very comfortable with high quality linens, whole appliances in function, wi-fi also with good speed.
Regarding on what Carvi hotel offers, it earns 5 point, I gave them only 4 because of fact that there is no restaurant, bar, no possibility for breakfast etc.
I would recommend to my friend Carvi. I try to book room for next year, but that is very difficult: hotel is more or less already book for whole 2013.

Very smart, clean, well appointed hotel. Tucked away at Lexington and 55th, it is still within walking distance of Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Times Square and the Met...We spent our visit walking everywhere and it was great to come back to such a comfy room. Would definitely visit again.

Stayed in an Executive Double Double room with 3 Adults and 1 toddler. We had LOTS of luggage. Small boutique hotel that knows how to overcome their shortcomings and what they lack for being a small hotel. First off, the staff is so nice, polite, prompt, and calm. At first you think some of them don't care, but it is just their calm and matter-of-fact manner. The details:

1. No ice machine - Huge for me since we have a baby and need ice for her milk cooler (fridge did not have freezer). They said they are working on it, and when you ask for ice, they deliver to your room and try to be prompt about it.

2. Small space - acceptable space and even though the room was small (I've stayed in smaller spaces before), they made use of every nook and cranny to create more shelf space and storage space (hollow space underneath beds for luggage, additional shelf space on tables and TV console, etc.) Bathroom decent size, no tub.

3. Entrance doors not stroller/wheelchair friendly - this they have to work on. If you have a stroller or wheelchair, better get ready to struggle or hope that someone is there to open the door for you. And it is quite narrow; they have it weird where one side opens smaller than the other.

4. 7th floor terrace - top floor terrace was a plus. Nice area to get some fresh air with lounge chairs and tables.

5. Parking tie-up - They get a little lower rate for parking compared to other parking garages.

7. Walking distance to main NYC tourist areas (5th Ave, Times Square, Grand Central) and has two subway stations nearby.

Overall a wonderful stay and would definitely go back! Value? Well, I got a rate that was about $40 less than the hyatts, marriotts, and hiltons in the same vicinity... you be the judge.

The Carvi is a great hotel which is convientedly located in midtown New York. it is very easy to walk to most of the major tourist attractions such as TImes Square and Central Park. There is also a metro stations convientedly located around 53rd & Lexington as well as 53rd & Third.
The room was big, modern, comfortable and quiet with a very nice bed and facilties. The bathroom was huge and modern.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.

This was a very pleasant hotel to stay at in New York. It was quite, spacious - by NY standards - and the price was not bad for NY. Although the caveat is that it's crazy expensive to stay in New York - especially certain times of the year.
But it was clean, modern and the staff was friendly. The location was good too. 4 blocks from the subway. A 15 minute walk to Times Square.
I would recommend it.
