This apartment is located in the heart of the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan. It is very close to the subway (F train at the Second Ave station), located two blocks ways. Within this neighborhood you have endless options for dining, bars, intimate live music venues, and shopping.
As for the apartment itself, it was located on the third floor of a 'walkup' style building (no elevator). The bedroom is small, but has what you need ...a comfortable bed and a small closet. I understand from this Tripadvisor listing that there may also be a few dresser drawers available for use in the bedroom (though it was not necessary in my instance, and since I only spent one night there). The bed was very comfortable.
Attached to the bedroom is a small bathroom. The bathroom was very clean. Towels are available for your use.
Guests should understand that this is the only bathroom in the apartment, so anyone else that may be staying in the apartment at the same time (i.e., possibly the host at certain times, or else any another guest that may be staying with you and sleeping on the couch in the living area), that they will be using this same bathroom. This means that anyone who may need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night will have to enter your room and pass directly by your bed. And while this did not present a problem for me when I stayed at this apartment, it is a possibility that you should be aware of, depending on who else may be staying in the apartment with you.
My communication with the host was very good, with all details made clear beforehand. When I went out for the evening, I was easily able to re-enter the building and apartment with the host's extra set of keys.
