“Disappointing Discovery”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

So much wanted our visit to St Patrick's to be the highlight of our trip to New York, however, not knowing about the extensive construction work being carried out in advance we were bitterly disappointed when we arrived at the Cathedral. Little of the wonderful architecture can be seen inside, although we did manage a time for quiet prayer at the altar towards the rear of the Cathedral.
Hope this building work can be expedited and St Patricks returned to its usual magnificence a.s.a.p.

“Under Construction”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

It maybe getting a facelift, but it still a good place to visit while in New York. The stained glass and gothic architecture are not to be missed.

“Still beautiful even under construction”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

Most of St. Patrick's Cathedral is currently covered by scaffolding (both inside and out) but it is still a beautiful church. You can walk around a lot of the inside of the church so I would still recommend a visit now to enjoy the details of the side altars. Then, once the renovations are complete, it would be great to go back to take in the grandeur of this impressive cathedral.

“Beautiful Church”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

St. Patrick's Cathedral is a beautiful church! It was under construction while we visited, but still enjoyed our visit. Would love to see it when the renovations are complete!

“Awesome architecture”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

Even with all the scaffolding both inside and outside, you can already see that much progress have been made in the restoration. Some of the stained glass windows have been finished and are absolutely gorgeous. The restoration should be complete by December, 2015 but it is still well worth entering this awesome structure.
