Owner description: The symbol of the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s, the Apollo is still the place to perform in Harlem.

I have always had a great love of dance and this celebration of dance was far from disappointing. The dancers were full of life and truly committed to their performance.

Apollo's Amateur Night doesn't disappoint! The feeling of being part of an audience in such a gorgeous and historic venue is amazing. Dont miss it!

That place I really longed to see and feel. Since I was a great fun of soul music from its beginnings. Unfortunately my wife never shared the same taste for such kind of entertainment, so we didn't enter in this famous edifice to see and hear some of the greatest perfomers of soul, jazz and others represents of, now, newly coming kinds of modern music. It is located between Frederick Douglas Bouleward on the west and Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. on the east and also between the West 126th Str.on the north and Dr.Martin Luther King Blvd. on the south, naturally in the Harlem.
Here were the greatest performances of jazz musicians and also the soul stars. For instance great Louis Armstrong, then Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Elington, Count Basie, Art Blakey, Horace Silver, had been here, among the many others, if we think of jazz music. As to the soul, James Brown, Otis Redding Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin had played and sung in this sanctuary of afro-american music.
That is a pity, I didn't attend some of these musical acts. Maybe some other time.

We had a great time during amateur night at the Apollo Theater last month. Great atmosphere, and very nice to see how they get the crowd excited. Great Harlem experience!

We went to the Top Dog amateur night.
The preshow host was full of energy, and the performers were amazing - especially the child performers.
Go see a piece of history - you won't regret it.
