Looking at the Asia Society & Museum calendar of events (Discussion, Art Talk, Meet the Author, etc.) I understand why visitors admire this museum.
I saw the “Iran Modern” exhibition. I didn’t care for the art on display. If I knew more about Iran and the 1979 Iranian revolution, would I have appreciated the exhibit? Possibly.
After leaving the museum, I read that the museum has a collection of masterpiece Asian art from John D. Rockefeller. Where was this collection? How did I miss it?
Asia Store (the gift shop) has a large assortment of books, statues of Buddha, tea & teapots, jewelry and items for children. I liked the merchandise in the store much better than the art in the galleries.
