We had reservations relatively early (6:00PM) on a Tuesday night and were seated promptly. The bar area was hopping with young wall street types. The dining room is separated from the bar by an enormous vault door, which makes for a nice barrier from all the noise. The dining room is small but cozy. The menu and the wine list are both small but there's definitely something for everyone. We had a lovely wine that was reasonably priced. I had the duck confit with mushroom and butternut squash risotto - fall perfection. My friend had the ahi tuna and soba noodles and she said they were fabulous. The service was acceptable but nothing special, friendly waiter.

The novelty for the restaurant is that you are dining in a century old vault. It is a very dramatic entry through the huge opening to the tables. Unfortunately, the food was quite ordinary (and I think I'm being kind here). I had the soup of the day, which tasted like it was fresh out of a can -- over salted and under-heated. The entre was better, but nothing special.

One of the best places in the Financial district - serves great food which wasn't too expensive and the main attraction are the large old bank vault doors that are either side of the bar to walk through!

Only problem is they are not open on Saturdays or Sundays (similar to a number of places in the Financial District).

The old bank vault is so cool...and the service is excellent! We spent several of our precious hours in the city enjoying the atmosphere, cocktails and food! Marc, our favorite bartender, is entertaining, quick-witted and just a delight!! Our Tarte Flambee was delicious. Can't wait to return to try more of the items on the menu!
