Description: Bobby Van's Steakhouse New York, located at 54th Street, is notable for its prime selection of superior steaks, distinctly excellent chops and incomparable seafood selection, invites you to enjoy the warm hospitality and quality fare that the traditional American steakhouses of New York are known for. Situated in a building once frequented by Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, this is the quintessential place for the "steakhouse, New York" experience. With its richly handcrafted wood walls and well-stocked bar, Bobby Van's Steakhouse offers both private and conventional seating. Diners can enjoy the outstanding and award winning wine list, which is personally selected by Bobby Van's own sommelier, and won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2005. In terms of cuisine, Lunch patrons would be hard-pressed not to enjoy our famed Marinated Skirt Steak, served on a bed of arugula salad, or our equally popular Colossal Crabcake B.L.T. As for our Dinner menu, where guests can find culinary pleasure in a varied number of highly satisfying selections, the Classic Surf & Turf has never failed to please, nor has our favorite form of filet mignon, the Filer Oscar, which is served with a healthy amount of crabmeat and a topping of Hollandaise sauce. No matter what your style or preference, we pledge that your visit with us will prove nothing short of above-adequate. Bobby Van's Steakhouse New York is open seven days a week for dinner, and on weekdays for lunch. We are conveniently located a few blocks north of the Waldorf-Astoria, and within close walking distance of the Intercontinental Hotel, Marriott Eastside, Radisson and the Benjamin Hotel, as well as are near parking and public transit.

I went for restaurant week on a Friday night expecting some very good food, but sadly, it was not meant to be. Best part of meal: tomato and mozzarella appetizer. My boyfriend ordered a beef and mashed potato entree, which he said was bland. I had the chicken marsala over rice. I was expecting cut up chicken over the rice, but what I got was a chicken breast on the side with some marsala sauce and plain white rice...nothing special. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mouse. Awful! Looked so unappetizing as it was more of a brown cream that looked the color and texture of runny dog poop (sorry, hate to say this but it's true.) Needless to say we told the waiter this was not a real mousse and didn't finish it. Never going here again.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal - steak was the order of the day and if there was any tips to give - beware the huge size of the starter which made us truly struggle on the steaks which were very succulent T-bones.

Great very friendly service made for an excellent evening during our short stay in the Big Apple with friends who live there.

Business dinner while in NYC with five people, on local recommendation. Noisy and crowded (as almost everything in this part of Manhattan will be), but food was very 'chain' and low level at that. Chicken Parmigiana would feed a family, more turkey sized than chicken : positively daunting. Gorgonzola steak was overly salty, obviously seasoned and cooked as normal then cheese added, doubling down on the salt, ....the list goes on. Expensive and not worth it

We decided for a splurge for one night and was glad we chose Bobby Vans. For starters, we shared a Caesar salad (average) and shrimp cocktails (huge!). I had the strip, my wife the filet - we shared asparagus.

Donna, the sommilier helped us pick out a not-to-outrageous bottle of Cab and our waiter, Jim, was on point and pleasant.
