“Value for money and well organised”
Reviewed 30 May 2012

The hotel still feels new, it is clean, organised and has (for New York) standards quite large bathrooms. I would definitely come back here.
Wifi is free, although a bit slow.
The breakfast is included, but could use more and more attractive places to sit.  The subway is only 200m by foot, making this a good place to start exploring both Manhatten and Brooklyn.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn Manhattan Bridge for one week and it was all very nice: we loved the breakfast (with bagels, muffins, waffles, yogurt, fruits, juices and lots more), the shower was very good and the bedroom recently renovated had a breathtaking view of the Manhattan Bridge and the skyscrappers of the Financial District!
The location was also very nice: 2 blocks from Grand Str. Subway station, at Chinatown with all the nice stores and also very near Little Italy, which has very nice restaurantes!
I recommend and would love to stay there again!

We stayed here for 8 nights in March of this year for a trip centered around St Patricks Day. We wanted stay in or near the Lower east side/East village area. There arent many hotels in this area so this was the closest we could get at a reasonable price. 5-10 minutes walking brings you to countless dive bars and music venues which is exactly what we wanted. Home Sweet home and Welcome to the Johnsons would be two of the best we visited.

Grand St Subway station is only 1 block north and serves the B&D trains. (Orange Line) You can get the J&Z trains (Brown line) from Bowery St which is about 4 blocks north. Also, Canal St Station is about 5 blocks west and the N, Q and 6 trains stop here. We got the train from JFK to Bowery St and walked the 4 blocks to the hotel. With two suitcases this was a bit awkward as the footpaths are quite uneven and crowded at the junctions but its not that far and we saved about $40 each way by not getting a taxi. We were first timers in NYC but being fairly seasoned travellers we werent fazed by the hustle and bustle in the chinatown area.

The hotel itself was fine. Decent sized room with a nice big TV and very clean. Staff were very efficient and friendly and really seemed to care. There was a bit of a mixup when we were checking in but this was dealt with quickly and without fuss. Very quiet at night, we asked for a high floor so we would be further up from street level. I would recommend this hotel for travellers who want a nice, clean, safe hotel near the lower east side.

Looking for a decently priced place to stay in NYC can make you pull your hair out. This Comfort Inn is located in Chinatown with a subway station a 5-minute walk away. Times Square was about a 15-20 minute subway ride away. The staff was awesome and friendly - nothing ever felt rushed. Rooms were clean and quiet at night. This place undoubedly deserves all the good remarks reviewers have been giving it. I would definitely stay here again.

Like many travellers writing reviews of this hotel I was initially a bit wary of the location, in the heart of Chinatown, on a busy street. But it was so handy for the subway and only five minutes to a bus stop for Grand Central Station (a 40-minute journey but you really see NY and its inhabitants!). The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and there are lots of cheap Asian eating places close at hand. Little Italy is also within walking distance. We felt quite safe in Chinatown as the hotel is on a main street and easy to find, opposite a sports ground and a children's playground and with Manhattan Bridge in the background. The only possible criticism is the cramped breakfast area where you may have to wait for a table if you come down at 9.00. But there's plenty to eat - you can even make your own waffles!

Room Tip: If possible ask for a room on one of the upper floors for the view (south towards Manhattan Bridge...

My daughter and I stayed here from 20th April 2012 to 25th and although we arrived 2 hours before our room was allocated we were allowed to go up as it was ready. The reception staff were really helpful and gave us a map and told us where the subway was.
As someone else said, we too were a little dubious when we saw it for the first time and worried about the location but it was so easy to get to and from as the subway is lterally 2 mins walk.
The bed and the pillows were soft and comfortable the area was quiet at night and we had a room overlooking Sara Roosevelt Park but not high enough to see the Brooklyn Bridge unfortunately. We would recommend this hotel very highly for those on a tight budget who do not want to be in the middle of all the noise and bustle of the city.

Room Tip: Ask to be higher than the 6th floor

i visited New York over Easter to celebrate my son's 18th Birthday. I found this hotel using Trip Advisor and going on other positive reviews I booked this hotel. I was not disappointed. We were given alovely room on the 10th floor, on 2 levels with fantastic views over Manhatten Bridge. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The staff are very helpful and although breakfast is basic it is adequate with plenty of choice. It was quite an experience to stay in China town ,with plenty to see and there are good bargains in the shops if you are prepared yo barter. We did and were happy with our purchases. There are 2 subway stations nearby and we managed to get from JFK airport by the airtrain and then subway direct to Grand St station very easily. We stayed for 6 days and bought a 7 day metro card for 27 $ and went everywhere (once we got it sussed !) As you imagine there are plenty of places to eat, however if you don't want a chinese we found a diner called Everest a 5 minute walk away in Chatham Square. It doesn't look much from the outside/or inside but they were very friendly and the food is all fresh and home made. I had lasagne and salad for 6$ and couldn't eat it all! This is half the price you pay for a meal in the city. Would recommend Top of the Rock over Empire state, Seaport Historic district a lovely area to visit on a nice day and an un expected enjoyable visit was a tour of the UN building! Central park lovely but also lovely park next to the public library (worth a visit) was Bryant park, a relaxing place to sit and catch your breath. We had an amazing time and did everything on our wish list and more. It was great to come back to our comfortable room and relax.I would def return to this hotel if I do a return trip to N Y in the future.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 10th floor and split level with great views over Manhatten Bridge.
