we paid a lot of money to stay at the french quarters for 4 nights in dec 2011 but it was worth it.
we ,had a second floor over the entrance room. we never had a lot of sleep the 1st night because of the vehicles passing the hotel all night but maybe were just light sleepers. within half an hour of telling the young lady on the desk the next morning we were moved to the back of the hotel absolutely no problem whatsoever .the rooms are fantastic . really loved coming out my room into the lift, then getting out the lift into the bar...brilliant bar and food and barstaff. breakfast was a bit of a let down for the 300 + dollars a night we paid and could be greatly improved. location was excellant with so many restaurants in the same street and all around.on the whole perfect place to see new york

Room Tip: dont choose one at the front if your a light sleeper

A friend of ours from Boston recommended this hotel. What a great choice! From the moment I spoke to the Irish guy (sorry it was the start of our trip and forget this wonderful young man's name) over the phone to make a booking I knew we made the right choice.
We were given a bigger room when they saw all our luggage. We went on a month long "trip of a lifetime". The manager was also very friendly and helpfull.
We could walk to Times Square withih minutes and also perfect for broadway. There are lots of good restaurants on your doorstep.
The only thing I can say is that the breakfast was very average and can be improved. No effort put in the fruit salad and cold boilt eggs.
A wonderful memorable stay in NYC. Clean, homely and the best beds ever!

My two sisters, my neice and I had originally rented a condo for our trip to NYC. Two days before our trip it fell through but the rental agent of the condo booked us at the French Quarters. We were not happy because we really didn't want a hotel but she convinced us that we would be happy. Not having any other options, we reluctantly agreed to stay there. We are so glad we did! We loved it! We had a two bedroom suite with a patio that had a view that was especially beautiful at night. Colin, John and the rest of the staff couldn't have done more for us. The location is perfect, close to theaters, Times Square, subways, restaurants, entertainment, and taxis right outside the door. We hated to leave but hope to return soon

Thanks, Colin, you made our trip very memorable.

Room Tip: Don't bother looking, just book a suite at The French Quarters.

For our first trip to NYC we read the reviews and were not dissapointed with this choice. It was the perfect location for all the typical New York sites and shows. Colin, the manager, as well as all the staff provided impeccable service and were great resources for these NYC newbies. When it rained they provided umbrellas, when we needed a car they made arrangements, if we wanted to confirm our directions, again they were able to help. The breakfasts were wonderful and a meal at the restaurant surpassed our expectations. The beef was every bit as good as that grown right here on our own farm!

Stayed 4 nights in 2 room suite with 2 baths. First of all i would like to thank the staff, they are great, especially impressed with the call prior to our stay asking if there is anything they can help us with. John and Tori were awesome as was the the rest of the staff. Second, the rooms are spotless, beds are great, bathrooms are very nice, walk in with seat showers, and the rooms very quiet, especially for NYC. 3rd, the location can't be beat, 1 1/2 blocks to time square, right in the restaurant/theater district with hundreds of great places to eat. Also loved the complimentary Keurig coffee in room and Evian water. Thank you Colin and the rest of the staff for a great experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in NY.

Room Tip: 2 room 2 bath suite on 4th floor can't be beat, originally was given the 2 room suite with 1 bath on the 5th floor which was very nice but we needed 2 bathrooms especially with a teenage daughter. They moved us without any questions asked. Both have nice balconies, loved waking up every morning and enjoying coffee outside.
