“BEST Theater District Lodging-A Gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2013

I only stay there now! I am in and out of NYC 2-3 times a month. Even stayed there for over a month in April 2013. Very clean, comfy, upscale yet affordable. All the staff is extremely helpful. Front desk allows for package and Fedex deliveries-even bring them to your "apartment". Room service is excellent (maybe too yummy sometimes!) The bedding is especially comfortable. Feels more like I'm working from home. Fridge, stove top, microwave, single cup coffee with endless supply of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and even apple cider. Free Evian water and juice drink Aeon. Perfect location...close to all the theaters and on Restaurant Row. Just a couple blocks from Times Square so you can escape that madness or participate if you choose! LOVE this find!!!!

This was our second stay at The French Quarters and we received a warm welcome back. The position of this small hotel is excellent and the provision of a light breakfast in a delightful outdoor room in summer is great. Once again we found Room 501 most suitable for our needs (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom) and the spacious balcony was well used. I am reviewing this hotel again as I had to stay on by myself for a few extra days and I would have to say that The French Quarters is an excellent choice for a woman travelling alone. Room 301 was small but more than adequate for one person. It was also quiet despite being located at the front of the hotel. Maybe the location of this room is noisier on the lower floors?? There is always a friendly face at reception and your room card has to be used to gain entrance to the hotel after 8pm. It is handy to all manner of restaurants, Broadway and the Birdland Jazz Club! Thank you Colin, John and Tori!

We booked a last minute room here, when it seemed all of the rooms in NYC were already booked! We were two families traveling together, four adults and two teens. We booked their two bedroom, two bath suite, around $850! but it was a very nice room and perfect for us. The bedrooms are private and the living area with the sofa bed was great for the kids. It was clean, the beds are comfortable. The room had a fabulous balcony looking over the street. It's located on "restaurant row" but we didn't hear any noise from the street (4th floor).
The staff was very accommodating, storing our luggage both before and after our stay. The continental breakfast was better than expected. The restaurant/bar is amazing looking.
The location is great, just a couple blocks to Times Square. Very impressed.

We stayed in mid-June. We found it a great place. Our room was in the back of the hotel and was fantastic! My favorite view was the cat sitting looking at us from across the alley.
The room was perfect! Plenty of room and most important it was hot outside and we stayed very cool!
The staff are marvelous! They are exceptionally helpful. They recommended that we take a car to several places and it was great advice.
The location is in the midst of zillions of restaurants and all were excellent. We ate like kings!
If I had any complaint, breakfast stopped being served too early!!! But, we had tons of coffee in our room and one of us could jump up and bring a tray.
The location is excellent and it will be our go to hotel!

This hotel has an excellent location. Very close to lots of restaurants and broadway theaters. The neighborhood is ver nice as well. The rooms are great! With much character and ample space inside the rooms, very clean and well presented.
The receptionist/front desk are accommodating so you can ask them about anything you need help with. Breakfast room is nice and the food was okay when we went.
Pricey accommodation but worth the money if you can afford it. Overall I would be back in this hotel.

The hotel is in a good location, close to times square, broadway, 5th avenue. The downside of being so central s it is noisy, but I think you'd find this in any central hotel. It was made worse for us as our room was facing the street and right by the front door. You could hear a lot of traffic noise and revellers, especially on Friday night. People would sit on the steps outside smoking, so sometimes you could smell smoke in the room. And inconsiderate guests would talk loudly in the corridor outside our room and slam the front door!

The room itself is nicely decorated and has everything you need. Hairdryer, iron, fridge, coffee machine with lots of drink options including hot chocolate and hot apple cider. There is complimentary water and hangover drink in your fridge on arrival. There is even an umbrella, which came in handy during our stay! Our room was long and narrow, but large enough. The tv was hung on a wall where you couldn't watch it unless you stood up. Not a problem as we weren't in NYC to watch tv, but it does make the tv pointless really. The bed and pillows were really comfy!

We didn't make it to breakfast on any morning of our stay :-( it finishes at 9 which was too early for s when you've been exploring the city that never sleeps all day, then had a broken sleep due to noise, and don't want to leave your comfy bed!

The room was really clean, nice bathroom and toiletries, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. This is a really good place to stay in NYC, but perhaps bring earplugs and ask for a room away from the front door/street.

As Aussies travelling to New York it can be a little overwhelming - The French Quarter has everything you need to ensure a fabulous trip. Location perfect - two blocks from Times Square, restaurant row at your doorstep and staff that go the extra mile to help with eating, sightseeing, events and generally just really nice people. It has a guesthouse feel with warm and cozy decoration and amazing beds!! We will return for sure!!
