“Great staff, very good accomodations”
Reviewed 27 January 2013

We stayed at the Gansevoort Park Hotel for a total of eleven nights in January 2013 (separated by a weekend elsewhere) and can recommend the hotel highly. Everyone on the staff is friendly and obliging, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. Unfortunately we never made it up to the rooftop bar, which must be great according to the photos. However, the muscular gentlemen wearing dark suits and earbud security who decide who goes up in the bar elevator are very polite but somehow intimidating, so we did not even try the bar. Maybe next time!

Dear HLB99,

The next time you stay with us we insist you go up to our roof for a nightcap. If that doesn’t suit you, then perhaps a small bite to eat accompanied by a cocktail with spectacular views will. If that still doesn’t entice you to make a trip to our rooftop, then perhaps a swim in our heated pool might. Have we provided you with enough enticing excuses to visit our roof despite our security’s intimidating looks? We are delighted you enjoyed your stay (without even seeing the best part!), and can’t wait for your return. If you should need a reservation in the future please feel free to contact our Community Manager at Digital@GansevoortPark.com. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Best,

@GansevoortPark

Huge room, fresh, big bathroom, great bed. One of the most upscale rooms I've ever seen in a hotel and I've stayed at everything from The Ritz to the four seasons. Bathroom was gorgeous! Regardless of price this place rocked it... And the price was really good.

There's two things I've enjoyed a lot about this hotel: the awesome bed (guaranteeing an excellent sleep) and being a pretty new venue (compared to other "W"-s NYC hotels I stayed at ). The reception staff is efficient and friendly, the restaurant is pretty good too.

A few weeks ago I had the honor to stay at this swanky hotel in Midtown NYC. This hotel has many things to offer in a great non touristy part of Manhattan. The hotel rooms are much larger than most places in this city and the bold colors make the rooms extra sexy. Arriving to the hotel I got a little turned around as the hotel entrance is on the side street and not directly on Park Ave. Chris Chavez in guest services was able to help me with directions and taking care of some special requests I had. I had a problem with the TV but they were able to send someone up and never had an issue after that. The Room service was tasty and the concierge was able to give great directions. Front Desk staff was also able to assist when there was no one at concierge desk. Room had amazing views of the city, was in a Grand Deluxe which gave me more than enough space for all the shopping I was able to do. Starbucks and many food shops across the street. Looking forward to my next trip to New York and maybe Ill try the one in Meatpacking.

Dramatic lobby--public rooms--and the room had drama but poorly designed--and a bit shabby. No place to put a room service tray-really tiny desk surface. Very poor bathroom lighting--and again no place for "stuff". Walls and furniture nicked/scraped--needs basic maintenance. But the worst was the wet dog/dirty shoe smell in room. Was too busy to deal with it--but not what I'd expect at that price point.

We really enjoyed the stat overall. Staff was courteous and helpful. Room was modern and sparkling, and the very large, luxurious tub was bonus. Our only complaint is that the hotel attracts a somewhat younger, immature crowd who were extremely loud and woke us up in the middle of the night two nights in a row. Other than that, a great stay.

Dear Janice P,

We are delighted that you enjoyed staying with us, and were able to revel in the luxury of our over-sized tubs. We do apologize if your stay with us was disrupted by some noisy neighbors. It is never pleasant to be woken up in the middle of the night, especially when you are traveling with your family. We would be happy to assist you with the matter. Thank you for choosing us as your New York City host. We look forward to your return.

I had been to the bars, and had meetings at the hotel, but never stayed there, and we were pleasantly surprised.

The Good: the room was fantastic, quiet, with a great bathroom, Park Avenue view and balcony. The room service was delicious, and quick. The staff on reservations were very helpful, and we were upgraded rooms as it was our anniversary. The room when we got into it was just fantastic. We asked for a crib in the room, and it was in there with a really cute rubber duck, and baby wash. A very nice touch
Valet was quick (a tip there - call down 30 minutes before), and everyone was very friendly.

The not so good: the room wasn't ready when we checked in at 3pm, which normally isn't an annoyance (especially as they'll give you a drink at the restaurant bar) but with a 6 month old, it was trying! Instant forgiveness as they upgraded us to a suite

The most telling thing: you know the mini bar, and the normal peanuts, wine, CD and stuff? well they extend the concept of providing everything to a $20 pair of 50 cent panties in a bag in the bathroom, just in case, you ruin some, or weren't expecting to be staying there...

Great place for couples, and a fun NYC experience. As a location its not really close to a lot of sights (other than the Flatiron Building), as its an 'up and coming' area of town, but you are no more than a short cab ride from everything, and if you are a big fan of Anthony Bourdain, Les Halles is just across the street for a great Steak Frites.

Room Tip: Call the hotel reservations directly, and speak to them if you have a special occasion, they were ve...

Dear newYorkNashy,

We are so pleased you chose us to host you for your anniversary celebration in New York City - and with a 6 month old baby at that! We hope you will continue to stay with us for years to come, and would love to have your child back for a swim in our rooftop pool when the baby is a bit older. We do apologize for the inconvenience of waiting to check-in after 3pm. Waiting to check-in is never pleasant after a long trip, especially when there is a newborn involved. We appreciate your understanding in the matter, and look forward to the opportunity of hosting you again in the future. If you would like to make a reservation please contact our Community Manager at Digital@GansevoortPark.com. We can’t wait to welcome you back.

Best,
