Spent a weekend here for a bachelorette party and it by far exceeded my expectations. From the spacious rooms to the beautiful rooftop pool and lounge the hotel just blew us away. The bellman Max and front desk representative Christina were more then helpful. They both really went the extra mile to make sure our stay was extra special. We will definitely be coming back to Gansevoort Park!

So we chose this hotel as a no holes barred spare no expense type of break but we wanted quality and value.

The hotel and the choice of services were good.

The restaurant was awful I mean really poor. It was a quiet night but there was turnover in the restaurant and we thought it's NY it'll be great. It wasn't. My food was com glee and cold.

The breakfast was ok but not five stars like you'd come to expect from NYC.

The SPA was nice but very very expensive. We wanted to do things as a couple we got a couples massage but the rest we were split and I waited an hour before I received my treatments facial with extractions. Neither I nor my husband were happy with the facial.

I used the hair salon and that I was happy with.

We drank in the sports bar and this was nice.

The central point of the hotel is great it is easy to get to and a beautiful space.

The rooms were gorgeous and clean but not spectacularly so. There was about a years worth of dust on the floor under the desk. I dropped an earring and when I went to retrieve it I was surprised.

A word of warning, DO NOT USE THE PHONE IN THE HOTEL. IT IS EXTORTIONATE IN PRICE. WE raised it with them and it was dealt with both on checkout and after we arrived home.

I'm not sure I'll go back to this hotel it was an eye opener and I've received better quality and service from other hotels in NYC and I left feeling good and not taken for a 'ride'! A bit disappointed with Ganesvoort Park Avenue.

Amber on reception was lovely as was Danny the concierge.

If you get to experience this hotel in a deal do it it's lovely but eat, drink and use the many many beauty services outside of the hotel. I felt they were much better.

Dear FDeBlaca,

Thank you for the thorough review. We're glad you enjoyed our central location but we deeply regret that your experience was not up to par. We appreciate your feedback as it will help ensure all future visits are flawless from check-in to check-out. We apologize for the dust in your room and we have followed up with our housekeeping department to avoid similar situations from recurring. Additionally, our concierge is always happy to clarify our telephone fees and we apologize you weren't informed prior to making your calls. We would love a second opportunity to prove our dedication and to provide a seamless stay. We are glad Amber and Danny were of great assistance and we hope to provide the same or greater level of service they provided on your next trip. Please feel free to contact Digital@TheGHG.com for further questions or concerns.

Stayed at the Gansevoort for 6 nights as a party of 6 (had 3 rooms booked). On arrival, we were told that two of our three rooms had been upgraded. The two which had been upgraded both had a bath as well as a seperate walk in shower cubicle in the bathrooms. Ours, however, only had a fixed shower head against the wall which wasn't very high. This would not have been a problem if my boyfriend wasn't 6 foot 3 and we weren't staying for almost a week. We went straight out for dinner and when we got back to the hotel later on we went to the front desk and spoke to John P. We explained the situation and asked if there was any chance we could be moved to a room which had the shower cubicle with a higher shower head. He was so attentive and went so out of his way to help us we couldn't have been more grateful. He showed us to several other rooms (all of which had the same bathroom as our previous room) until we found room number 517 which not only had the walk in shower cubicle but also was a bigger room than before and had a balcony overlooking park avenue.... This made our stay at the Gansevoort much more enjoyable and accommodating and we cannot thank John P enough for his service to us.

Other facilities at the hotel included a well equipped gym, a rooftop pool (which we didn't manage to make use of as it was busy the one time we went up there), and a terrace bar above the pool, where we were able to lay on sun loungers and even provided with complimentary ice lollies!!

The best thing about staying at the Gansevoort was staying in undoubetdly the most comfortable bed in the whole world - I did not want to leave it every morning!! There was also a flat screen TV against the wall with a large selection of channels, a safe, and the maids came round at least twice a day to make the beds and supply fresh towels. Finally, the location of this hotel is great - ideally situated on park avenue, less than a 10 minute walk from the empire state and broadway, and a further 5-10 to times square.

Overall we couldn't have picked a better hotel to stay at and are thrilled with our experience here at the Gansevoort, one last thank you to John P!!

Dear Mgnlj2112,

Thank you for the superb review. We're elated you had a phenomenal experience and we're pleased we could accommodate your room preferences. We'll be sure to inform John and the rest of our team of your kind remarks, as we know they look forward to your next trip. On another note, we apologize that our pool area was busy but we're thrilled you loved our sun deck. Lounging above the New York City skyline, while soaking up the sun is quite ideal. We hope you return soon.

It is 2:06am on a Friday morning as I write this and whatever happens - DO NOT STAY ON THE 18th floor on a Saturday or a Sunday. They have a very popular bar - yay! But it sucks for you if you are actually trying to get ANY rest. The beat is thumping in your room and the stuff on your counters are rattling. The hotel for the time (1 day) we have been here has great service - but the floor we are on is TERRIBLE. AND they had the nerve to tell us that they 'upgraded us' to this room - only for the club to be still going on the hotel guests on this floor can get no sleep. The worst is that when I called downstairs they said it goes til 4am. So unless you are in your 20's then this hotel is great. If you are in your mid thirties and up, have kids with you and/or want to actually rest - stay in lower floor or different hotel. I am hoping they move us to a lower floor tomorrow or we are moving out of the hotel.

Ive stayed at the Gansevoort Park many times. Everytime i stay I'm overly impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and more importantly my room. one of my stays was in room 1609 the best room on the property in my opinion. Wrap around terrace with ample space for at least 20 people. I never stay anywhere else when staying in Manhattan. Chris Stern at the redroom is always overly accommodating. il be back soon.

My sister and I spent 4 nights at the Gansevoort Park Hotel and, although a decent property, in a nice location for good restaurants, there were small things that would prevent a 5-star rating.

Service: Concierge were a mixed bag. Appear to be standoffish, don't know enough about the area to make recommendations and what to do. What was helpful if you know what you want to do they are helpful at printing off info and explaining how to get there.

Room: The room for NY fine and being based on 6th floor, it was quiet. The bathroom was not at all luxurious. Weak product selections, very basics and very skimped if I may say so. Based on the price you pay it's not worth it. esp. since the pool closes at 6pm so you can't use the facilities after a long day.

My son and I spent 5 nights at the Gansevoort Park Hotel and, although a very nice property, there were small things that would prevent a 5-star rating. While others have commented on the excellent service at the hotel, we found both the front desk staff and concierge to be a bit officious and standoffish. After a long flight, we changed and went to the pool area at 2:00 PM only to find the pool closed until 6:00 PM for cleaning. There was no comfortable place to sit and relax in the room...just one straight-back desk chair. That particular chair had several rips in the cushion that had been glued/taped together. The room otherwise was nicely decorated with 2 very comfortable beds. Many other reviewers mentioned the loud parties from the rooftop but, being on a lower floor, it was quiet. I called housekeeping to request foam pillows, and they were brought to the room quickly. On our last night in the hotel, I asked for a 6:00 AM wake up call. The next morning, the call was made at 5:30 AM. Not a huge deal, but showed a lack of attention to detail. A nice hotel, but could use some additional scrutiny.
