I have stayed at the Trump SoHo twice in the last three months. The hotel is clean and new. It is also conveniently located on the edge of SoHo, nearby a subway stop. The service is so-so. Some people are great while others have that "South Beach I don't really care about you" attitude. The spa is quite mediocre.

Staff are all very good and friendly. For a short or longer stay in NYC it is pretty good. Rooms are big and well appointed. Service is always good. Stayed 3 times and a 4th coming up soon. The location is fantastic for Soho, MeatPackers, Greenwich etc.

Room Tip: Get a high room. The higher the better for sound proofing. East river view is really nice.

We stayed at the Trump Soho for 3 nights to celebrate my husband's birthday! We travel to NYC at least 3 to 4 times per year. I have stayed at many of the 5 star hotels, including the New York Palace Towers, the Andaz on 5th, the Langham, and recently at the Quin Hotel. We decided to stay at the Trump Soho as we had never stayed in Soho before. The area was great lots of great shopping and restaurants. However, when we checked in the first room that we were assigned was a room with no drawers, the cupboard did not have long hanging and there was no where to put anything. We tried to put my husband's suits in the cupboard and realized that they were dragging on the bottom of the cupboard and when we took them out, they were filthy dirty from the dirty cupboard. I called downstairs and explained that I was there for a special occasion and that it was impossible to stay in that room as there was NOWHERE to put your clothes. They connected me to Daniel, who was supposed to be the senior reservation customer service person who was extremely rude, but did offer us another room on the 35th floor which did have ample space for clothes. He knew how upset I was and NEVER checked again to make sure that everything was ok. Furthermore, they did nothing to acknowledge my husband's birthday. There was no free internet, no newspapers. There was nothing that upscale about this hotel at all. A Hampton or Courtyard down the street would have by far been a better option. I would never stay there again!

Room Tip: Make sure you don't stay in their standard room

We booked our room through Jetsetter at a favorable rate. I entered room preferences--not near elevator, ice machine, service closet in the reservation. Guess what? The only room separating us from the elevators was a service closet making the room very noisy. When we were told about this at reception I expressed my dismay but was told that Jetsetter "owns" several rooms and we would have to contact them to see if one of there other, better located rooms was available. Thinking it was a waste of time, we opted to stay where we were assigned. The housekeeping staff made no attempt to quietly access the adjacent service closet and seemed to purposely bang the vacuum cleaner into the walls when they vacuumed the corridor. Room doors also closed loudly adding to the disturbance. Our room was located on the 9th floor so there was no view other than another building across a courtyard which necessitated keeping the blinds closed most of the time.

On a positive note the bathroom was well designed with long vanity with two sinks, a large soaking tub and separate shower and toilet rooms.

The bedroom had adequate storage, a generous desk surface, sofa and lounge chair. The bed area had built in nightstand with a drawer for personal items and open space below.

We loved the hotel's restaurant and the staff was very accommodating.

The location can't be beat for shopping and dining.

Room Tip: Don't book through Jetsetter if you have specific room requirements.

The rooms are extremely comfortable, clean, modern, very much focused in making you feel that you get the best of everything- linens, mattress, pillows. It works. The hotel is very stylish, sophisticated with an edge. The pool is beautiful (though quite small) but it's do rare to have an outdoor pool in nyc hotels that it's really special to have the option to enjoy it,
Be prepared that because it is small, seating/ lounging are very limited so you may have to wait for a while before anything becomes available.
I had high hopes for spa but didn't care for arrogant standoffish service and there was no access to some of the advertised amenities.
Breakfast was great, and for dinner the Skye is the limits in the area and the hotel will be happy to recommend too notch dinning.

I booked an executive room at $740 per night and was offered and took an upgrade to a corner suite for $50 extra. If you get the chance these rooms are spectacular - 2 rooms with corner and side floor to ceiling windows - over 40 floors up and great views of Freedom Tower and all way up and down river and across Manhattan. Service and quality of rooms faultless, decent small gym. No proper bar that I could find except in adjacent restaurant - would be great to have one on top floor. Has pool but didn't see it. Nice base for NY trip - expensive but I think worth it.
