“Perfect Choice”
Reviewed 19 September 2012

I travelled to Manhattan for a week with my boyfriend last september and as a first time visitor to NYC I spent a long time looking for the right hotel for our trip. In the end we had a couple of choices and booked the Eventi based mainly on the great reviews on Trip Advisor....and it lived up to all expectation! On arrival we were greeted by lovely staff who kindly upgraded us to a high floor room - much to our delight. The room was lovely, with amazing view. The huge bed was so comfortable and judging by other NYC hotels we looked at, the rooms were very spacious. It was cleaned every day and when I called reception for extra towels and hair straightners (as mine did not work) they were happy to help and had them at the room in minutes. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and when we asked for advice on transport, tickets for baseball and restaurant recomendations they were albe to give us all the help we needed and all with a smile!

We ordered room service on one occasion which was a little pricey but you are in NYC and you are paying Hotel prices so that is to be expected....it was delicious! I would definately have ordered more had there not been so many amazing places to eat close by. The hotel also left a bottle of bubby and cupcakes to celebrate my birthday while we were there.... a lovely touch!

The location of the Eventi is fantastic. With it being our first visit we wanted to explore as much of Manhattan as possible and the Eventi was ideal for this. It is central to everything you want to see as a tourist and the local area is great. We caught the train to Penn station from the Airport which cost us $12 instead of paying upwards of $60 for a taxi and when we arrived it took us less than 10 mins to walk from the station to the hotel, even with our suitcases!

We were so impressed with the Eventi we have actually booked to stay here again when we return this December. Not something we would normally do as we prefer to try new places but we couldnt think of a single reason not to!

Went there for business & weekend in July.

The hotel is perfectly located in Manhattan @ 6th&31st close to Times Square, Madison Square garden, the posh 5th Ave, Gramercy park, Empire State Bldg, Flatiron Bldg & adjacent Park, etc. Not the cleanest area in the city but very close to all major (very touristy indeed) attractions.

Very elegant, chilldown setting & layout (3rd floor lounge, an excellent relaxation spot). The fresh, frutty scented water offered complimentary to guests in the lobby, a nice & classy touch. Free wine & cheese tasting in the afternoons in the lobby is another good idea from the management. As expected, the property was spotless clean (quite contrasting with the neighbourhoods...).

The rooms we stayed in was rather small, yet it featured a relative large & well appointed bathroom, well insulated windows that kept away the noise & bustle of the 6th we were facing (East).
Excellent bed.

Kind of noisy A/C. it would blow soundly a strong flow of air at regulate intervals to maintain the temp we had set that made a strong contrast with the tranquility in the room. This would go on & off every 2-3 min or so which was kind of upsetting, especially at night, so we had to turn it off to sleep well although it was a terribly hot & humid weather.

Breakfast was optional but very, very good. Excellent selection of berries, btw!

The hotel had a couple of restaurants, we tried one of them, very good. we enjoyed particularly the outdoor terraces it featured, another surprising feature of this hotel's layout.

Staff was nice, courteous, smiling happy and above all, efficient. But then again it is the American service stdd I got used every time I travel to the US.

All in all a good experience and would definitely recommend the hotel for business or leisure.

Room Tip: we stayed on 7th flr and had an average eastbound view to 6th and Emipre State Bldg. Get a room on...

Perfect location for my business needs, super smooth check-in, fantastic room. Become a part of the Kimpton In Touch loyalty program (free) for wifi at no cost, a 'raid the mini bar' coupon and know the secret password (by connecting on facebook or twitter) for an extra special welcome when you get to the hotel. (My extra special welcome was a bottle of wine in the room when I returned for the day!)

Electrical outlets aplenty, great desk, clean, large bathroom. Everything I need to be happy in a hotel (well that and fantastic pillows, a smoke-free room and blackout drapes - they have all of that...)

A great room is always made better by great service and Victoria at the front desk made my arrival super special (and she found a Mac Book charger to loan when I realized I left mine on the train.)

All in all, great price, near everything you want to visit, terrific property and lovely service.

Room Tip: The rooms have blackout drapes which is a terrific help, ask them for quiet and they'll try to a...

I just returned from a 4 night trip to NYC with my husband. After pouring over online reviews, I chose Eventi for its rooms but mainly for the stellar service. The rooms were wonderful and a good size for NY standards. I loved the spacious marble bathroom with walk in shower and rain shower head. The decor was modern and perfect for our taste. I requested extra towels from housekeeping and the request was met the next day with a nice note to boot. The property itself is great. Even the location, which we were skeptical about, was good. Granted most of the reviewers are accurate in that there's not much in terms of dining options immediately outside the hotel, but you can take the subway or cab nearly anywhere and Penn Station is only a short walk from the hotel.

Now let's talk about service, and I'm referring specifically to the front desk and concierge. I had read again and again on this site about how the staff went above and beyond for them. Unfortunately, we experienced none of it. Even as Kimpton In Touch members, the most we received was the mini bar credit and free in-room WiFi. Upgrade to rooms upon check-in? Nope. Great view of the Empire State? Not unless you consider walking over to a side window and looking left a "great view". We needed directions to MetLife Stadium for a college football game and wasted a lot of time, behind other frustrated patrons, waiting for the concierge, who was nowhere to be found during our entire stay. The bell captain finally came over and printed something out for us, which was basically straight off of the stadium website (and information we already had).

When it came time for restaurant reservations, the staff seemed to know of only one place: The Breslin. What's a good breakfast place around here? The Breslin. Where should we go for drinks? The Breslin. Is there a special dessert place we should try? The Breslin. Seriously? With the number of incredible restaurants in the city, that's all you've got for me? We actually tried it the first morning for breakfast but again spent an inordinate amount of time looking for it. We were given the 2 cross streets but no other information. We realized pretty quickly how many storefronts there were on that corner and ultimately discovered that The Breslin is inside the Ace hotel! Needless to say, after a few tries with the staff, we ended up using our online resources to find our way around and to discover where to eat in the city. I did try one more time to secure dinner reservations at Spice Market, which incidentally the concierge at The Hyatt near Grand Central told us about. Front desk called us back to let us know only 11pm was available. I jumped online to the restaurant website and booked a 6:15pm via Open Table. I was even able to push it back to 8pm on the same day based on our own changing schedule. So it seems, the internet was more of value than the hotel staff.

I was really excited at the thought of being treated like royalty based on the reviews, but sorry to say, we didn't feel the love Eventi!

The staff is very friendly, they are always available to help you in any kind of need! I went to New York to visit the city and Eventi has the perfect location for that! It's almost side by side to Empire State Building and very near to broadway, times square and 5th avenue. Besides, there are 2 subway stations in front of the hotel so moving around the city and take advantage of the main atractions is very easy. The hotel is very clean and modern. It's brand new! The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and the view from the top floors is breathtaking. I definitely recommend this hotel to all kind of trips. It doesen't matter if you're just passing by New York on a bussiness trip or if you brought your whole family to visist and walk around the city. Eventi, a Kimpton Hotel will suit all your needs and preferences. Enjoy! :)

My wife and I stayed here because a good friend works for the chain, and it was a great place to stay. I love the food parc downstairs, essentially a fancy food court with awesome choices.

The suite we had had a cool layout and an awesome huge bathroom. The hotel was in a prime location, we walked to a broadway show and korea town.

Would recommend this place.

From check-in to checkout, everything was superb. The location is perfect, the hotel is swank, and the staff is very personable. You will be staying in a luxury hotel without the stuffiness. I love Kimptons, but this one was topnotch.

Room Tip: I was in 1910, great view, huge king bed, plenty of work space.
